In the 1970's it was common every Sunday a "theatrical" movie premiered on TV!
It was not uncommon for the movie to have never before seen footage! Universal Studios even brought back cast members year or so later and would shoot additional footage for TV showings!
Some of this unseen footage was shot for the theatrical release but was cut for one reason or another.
However TV was very different in the 1970's! In the 1970's TV stations could not show no more than 12 minutes per hour! (Unlike today where they can show as much as they want) So when a movie premiered on TV lots of times these movies were padded out to fill out a time slot! When a movie played on Network TV in a 3hr or 4hr time slot lots of times these movies were advertised with "NEVER BEFORE SEEN FOOTAGE". Here is a small list of movies they were shown on TV with never before seen footage
"King Kong" 1976 Edition (deleted theatrical footage)
"Airport 77" (footage shot for TV showings)
"Airport 79" (footage shot for TV showings)
"The Deep" (over 40 minutes of deleted footage edited back in)
"Superman" (over 30 minutes of deleted footage edited back in)
"Born in East LA" (deleted footage added back in)
"Two Minute Warning" (footage shot for TV)
"Earthquake" (footage shot for TV)
"Halloween II" (deleted footage added back in)
"Dune" (deleted footage added back in)

The reason why I am bringing this up is because I would love to see these scenes again! I want to see these scenes added to a DVD special edition. Each of these movies have an audience that remembers seeing this footage when the movies aired on TV! Now lots of these movies can be bought on-line as a bootleg/illegal DVD however I want the real deal here! I am a fan of these movies! I would love to see the King Kong Footage.
Now the directors of these movies most likely do not care for these scenes!
For example Richard Donner directed "SUPERMAN-THE MOVIE". When the movie premiered on TV the producers of "Superman" had theatrical footage added back in without his (Richard Donner) involvement (he cut it for a reason)! He never wanted these scenes to shown "IN A MOVIE PRESENTATION FORMAT" however he wasn't on the best of terms with the producers and so the producers did this behind his back!
Mark Robson who directed "Earthquake" detested the made for TV footage. He did not even direct those scenes. Universal Studios called back several stars of the movie and they worked for about a week shooting scenes that were added for the TV Premiere! In fact NBC spilt the movie into a 2 night mini series event! "Earthquake's" film editor directed the new scenes!
I know the studios want to make money so come-on the next time do a "SPECIAL EDITION" of any of these movies on DVD please release on the bonus section of the DVD add these scenes!
I will be there with my wallet out when they do!

Poltergiest 25th Anniversay DVD
You know its coming! I don't know what will be on the DVD as an extra however I hope we get the truth in a documentary! This what I want to see in a documentary:
The fights between Tobe Hooper and Steven Spielberg on the direction of the movie!
I have been told Steven Spielberg did direct or re-directed the movie. One scene that was re-shot by Steven Spielberg involving the search for Carol Anne. As it was told to me the scene shot by Tobe Hooper went like this:
The parents trying to figure where Carol Anne is the mother yells "The swimming pool, the swimming pool". Well the father (played by Craig T Nelson) then run to the pool and starts scraping the pool (which is still being constructed) with a rake! Yes the pool was a mud pit but however Steven Spielberg hit the roof! He re-shot the scene this time the dad jumps into the pool of mud looking for his daughter!
The movie was on the "Hollywood Radar" because rumors of Steven's so called interference!
Rumors were also going around that the production offices of the movie were bugged!
By who? Who knows? Who cares? Well hell I do! I love this type of shit! Will these stories surface on a DVD documentary? I doubt it! Hollywood King "Steven Spielberg" will put a stop to anything that he feels is not portraying him in a positive way!
To me If he has nothing to hide lets address the production rumors! Let Tobe Hooper do a commentary! Some how it will be a white wash! To bad! A true documentary on "The Making of Poltergeist" would be a must see event of the year! Forget "Spider-Man 3" this is what I want to see!
However what bad blood that was between Tobe & Steven must have been water under the bridge by 2002. This is when Tobe Hooper worked with Steven Spielberg again on the mini-series "Taken" directing a 2hr segment of the mini series!

Donald Trump VS Rosie O' Donnell

Donald Trump keeps showing his true colors. I agree that "Rosie isn't mother Teresa" however I can't belive he was glad when "her magazine failed". He said this on Larry King.
When her magazine failed Trump said he saw Rosie and went and told her to her face "That I am glad your magazine failed". Now to me that is 'high schoool". If your on Donald Trump side on this war all I can ask is why? Plus you must vote Republican.
Rosie is trying to make the world a better place. Donald only cares about is money!

Halloween The Rob Zombie ReMake
I think there was another sequel the studio could of made before they decided to remake "HALLOWEEN". I think Rob Zombie is not the best choice to remake "Halloween". I would of gone with Danny Boyle. However since were getting Rob Zombie I think he should cast Danille Harris. To not use her would be stupid! Shooting starts 1/29/07. It has a release date of 8/31/07. I am willing to bet that the release date is going to change! At one time it was to be released 10/19/07 however the studio is afraid of "SAW IV" WHICH IS TO OPEN around the same time! If the movie test well I am sure an early August release date will come! If the movie doesn't test well then a later date is very possible
Grease Show is a Joke
NBC on Sunday Night's is airing an "American Idol" type show to find new stars to be in "GREASE" in a broadway production. You might think this is great I say this show is just bullshit!
The show should be truthful and just film casting offices and interviewing people who are auditioning for the parts! They could show them getting the roles and then show all the rehearsals! They could show how things change and all the fucking Drama that happens behind the stage!
Do you really think that people that went to the open auditions are going to be cast? Think again! This is the oldest trick in publicity that started when David O' Selznick went nationwide to find a Scarlet O' Harra. It was a joke then as it is now! David ended up casting a British Girl- Vivian Leigh.
Years later Columbia did the same thing going nationwide to find "Annie" all along Aileen Quinn was already cast (but not signed) by the director John Houston!
Disney did the same thing with their hunt for Tina Turner. Again nationwide search and they cast Angela Bassett! She had already had parts in "MALCOM X", "THE JACKSON'S", &
"BOYS IN THE HOOD". In fact she was in rehearsals for the part while the
publicity stunt /talent search was going on!
In 1986 Warner Brothers did another talent hunt to find someone unknown to play Selena- they cast "Jenifer Lopez" who won the part over Salma Hayek. Both were on the short list to play Selena from the day Warner Brothers announced they were going to making the movie about the slain singer!
So here is the 2007 edition of the talent hunt! The only thing different is that there is a TV show behind the talent hunt! Don't be fooled! I am sure they may have 4 unknowns (for ratings) up against Actors who have extensive training & experience already! Who do you think will it end up in the play? I am willing to bet someone who has been on Broadway before!
Hey if you have never seen the play before let me tell you this the songs you loved from the movie are not in the play! Unless the producers decided to use those songs instead! Also remember the play is much different than the movie! In fact Sandy is an American!

Designing Women
Designing Women was a great show! The first 4 seasons were great!
However Linda Bloodsworth also created "Evening Shade" which started in 1990 and had less involvement with DW starting in the beginning of Season 5 and Pam Norris was starting to have more input on the show! Season 5 also was the last year that had the original cast!
The show was nominated for Best Comedy for season 4 & 5 however it lost both years!
Linda Bloodsworth turned over "Designing Women" full time to Pam Norris for the 6th season!
This was also this the year we got Jan Hooks and Julia Duffy! Pam Norris's talent is no where near the talent as Linda! The show began to suffer from Linda's Lack of full time involvement!
Which began with season 5! Pam was lucky to still have the original cast.
The best episode of season 6 as the episode written by Linda . In this episode Mary Jo goes berserk over the Clarence Thomas appointment to the US Supreme Court!
Season 6 Linda Bloodsworth turned over the show full time to Pam Norris!
She became the executive producer and the show runner.
In season 6 the show almost became unwatchable! However it remained in the top 10 because
it will still on Monday night! The following year it was moved to Fridays. The ratings slipped and the show was cancelled once and for all!
Before Season 7 started production CBS decided to kill the show by moving it to Fridays! The ratings however were still good (on Monday Nights) even without Delta Burke!
Season 7 was to be the last! The show was moved to Fridays! The ratings drooped! A few episodes were good however is was a shadow of its former Glory!

Season 1 1) The Cast were all friends and united a front when CBS kept moving the show! CBS hates women who stand up for themselves! The whole cast even went on "The Late Show-with Joan Rivers" when the show was ranked 16th for the week! The shows ratings were growing each week! However for some reason CBS pulled it from Monday Nights and replaced it with "The Cavanaughs". CBS then put DW on Thursdays at 9:30 it was up against Night Court and rating were poor! CBS pulled the show again and then returned to the 9:00 pm time slot on Sundays! It had a great led-in from "Murder She Wrote" however MSW had an audience that was mostly over 60 and that audience went to bed at 9:00 so DW was pulled again! Soon the "THE VIEWERS OF QUALITY TV" help save the show (THE FIRST SHOW THEY SAVED WAS CAGNEY AND LACEY) and the show was returned to Mondays!
Season 2 The cast was mad because the network was not promoting the show! Delta Burke starts missing work! She doesn't show up or is late from time to time! Her weight also starts to go up!
Season 3 Delta Burke and her weight gain makes the tabloids! Tension rises and Delta thinks the cast is leaking nasty stories about her to the tabloids! (Years later she knows they didn't)
Season 4 Again after the show was doing well at 9:30 on Mondays CBS moves the show again to 10pm on Mondays! Kim LeMaters has 6 comedy shows on Monday! The Famous Teddy Z and Murphy Brown join the CBS Monday line-up! Delta has massive panic attacks this year and has major issues with Linda and Harry! Later Jeff Sagnasty replaces Kim LeMasters and he kills the all comedy night on CBS! He also moves DW to its rightful place on the Monday Night Schedule at 9:30! The highlight of the season is the episode called "They shoot fat Women don't they"! Delta gets an Emmy nomination but loses! Ratings are at an all time high! In fact it does better than "Murphy Brown" and builds on that audience! This was something that went unnoticed in the press! In the summer of 1990 Delta makes news when she gives an interview to a Florida Newspaper say DW is not a happy enviorment!
Season 5 Delta Burke is pushed into the background and the show still holds up in the ratings! She later gives an interview to Barbara Walters and Arsenio Hall saying she isn't happy! The fighting behind the scenes is at an all time high!

Critics always said "DW" was a rip-off of "The Golden Girls". The only thing "Designing Women" in common with "The Golden Girls" was that all the leads were women! Now 20 years later the critics have come around and now say this show is a classic! Fans of the show have known this since 1986.

To this day its hard to find re-runs of "Alice" and "One Day at a Time", & the beloved "Murphy Brown". Maybe its because those shows seem to suffer because they dealt with issues that were important at the time. "Designing Women" However seems timeless.

TWIN PEAKS DELETED FOOTAGE
Okay if your a "TWIN PEAKS" like me (even just a little) you may have heard that when David Lynch filmed the movie "Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me" he shot scenes that never made it into the movie! Over 1hr of footage went to the cutting room floor and still to this day has never been seen by the public! This is now my mission is to get NEW LINE CINEMA to pay for the footage so "TWIN PEAKS" fans can see all the footage they have only herd about!
Last year Warner Brothers gave the fans of "Superman" the long awaited Richard Donner Cut of "Superman II"! Now Since Warner Brothers own New Line maybe we will get the deleted footage of "Fire Walk with Me".
