Now out of the top 5 movies 4 were sequels. The only movie that wasn't was "Tramnsformers" and that was based on cartoons or a comic book! Loook for a sequel in 2 or 3 years.

The other 4 movies in the top 5 were sequels! It was the third time around out for "Shrek" "Pirates" & "Spiderman". "Harry Potter" is #5.

The rest of of the top 10 the 2 of those were sequels or based ona TV show. So what does this mean to us the paying public? Lots of more sequels and remakes. The sequels make money. Sad. Of all the sequels I saw this Summer only "Bourne" & "Oceans" were worth watching.

Why I hate Merv Griffin

Okay I grew up in Oxnard California. Not far from Los Angeles but it may as well been 2000 miles away.

I am a child of the 1970's & 1980's. Where it was the norm to here gay jokes. However in 1983

when AIDS first became known it scared the hell out of straight people. In fact when I should came out in high school I became a basket case because I felt shame for being gay.

The Merv Griffin Show I grew up watching with my parents who loved his show! However Merv had a life that he could of shared with the public but didn't. When his talk show ended in 1986 he could of admitted he was gay and that more funding was needed to help find a cure for AIDS.

However the asshole never told the truth to the press! He had an image.

Merv Griffin could of been a role model if he came out. He could of saved lives. He didn't.

The road to gay acceptance by the public was paved not by him but by women celebrities!

This women were "kd Lang" "Melissa Etheridge" "Bill Jean King" and my favorite "Ellen Degeneres". This women came out to the world at different times! They had more to lose then Merv did. The became gay icons because they did help people that they will never meet. They're careers didn't suffer and all of them still have huge amounts of straight fans. They also saved lives!

Merv to me was selfish asshole that could of came out. He didn't. If he did then the fans of his TV show who had a gay friend or son/daughter brother/sister would see that gay people are like everybody else. Well he didn't!

Merv Griffin is now dead. To me it was a no loss!

THE BRAVE ONE A REVIEW

Don't get me wrong I love Jodie Foster. I think she is a great actress. However she has ruined 2 movies that I know of. The first was "Contact" where she had a love story added for her character. Now here is the 2nd movie she fucked up. That movie is "The Brave One".

Last week I caught the AMC show "Shootout". On the show movie producer Joel Silver said Jodie Foster wanted a few "changes done" to the movie. To me they should of ignored her.

This movie is so stupid. Its unrealistic. Its also just too fucking long!

Now what so stupid about this movie is that we know Jodie becomes a vigilante. But it takes too long to get there and we have too much time between any kind of story movement!

To me this is an artsy farsty version of "Death Wish". This movie didn't need to be that way.

Its an action movie. I know Quentin Tarantino will die laughing if he ever See's it.

HALLOWEEN REMAKE WHAT THE FUCK

Its been almost a month & I have been good about not bad mouthing ROB ZOMBIE for remaking the classic "Halloween".

Now the 1978 original inspired & started the splatter movie genre. However the original "Halloween" was not a splatter movie however the remake is.

Now the original "Halloween" was a huge success back in the day. In fact if you adjusted the gross of the 1978 version it would adjust to almost $200,000,000 million. Not bad for a movie that cost $300,000.

Now here it is 2007. AS of today the new version has done almost $55,000,000. For a movie that cost less than $20,000,000 that is a huge success. In fact I am sure a sequel will come out however that doesn't mean that this version of "Halloween" is worth watching. The fact is is that is wasn't worth making.

Now in the original Michael Myers had a very little back story. Here its all back story. In the original it Michael lives in middle class neighbor hood with decent looking parents.

In the remake its the opposite. Michael lives a classic white trash life. You expect a killer to emerge from that back ground.

Now I know Rob Zombie wanted to explore things left UN said from the original however, less is always more!

SO we are stuck with the movie that Rob Zombie made. I must say it has some very good parts here and there but in general the movie just sucks. LIKE MOST REMAKES
