Behind the Candelabra Michael Douglas Very Good Rob Lowe Outstanding

We just watched the movie "Behind the Candelabra".  Michael Douglas was very good  however  I think Rob Lowe did an excellent job. His scenes were the most fun. I think the film would of been better if it had  more campier scenes. Its worth watching but not repeatedly

People Turn Off you cellphones in theaters

We had to stop going to movies because we were tired of the rudeness of the audience.   In a dark theater a mode gets ruined fast when you see the green light of a cellphone pop up below you.  Even if the person is just texting it is still a distraction.   I also wish they would throw out people as soon as they are reported. I Think they should also be fined $500.  That would stop 99% of this shit.  What do you think!!  

IF they make another Gypsy Fim then cast Anne Hathaway as Gypsy and Patti LuPone as Mama Rose and Mandy Patinkin as Herbie

There has been talks for years that Barbra Streisand was to be in a new version of "Gypsy"..  Now I think that is a huge mistake.  Patti LuPone  should play Mama Rose on film.  She won a Tony for the role (AND THE ONLY ACTRESS TO EVER DO SO).  She gave a performance that is now legendary!   To ignore this and cast Streisand (However I am a fan of hers as well) is a huge crime against the property.  Even the creator of the show Arthur Lawrence loved what Patti did with the role.  

PAtti LuPone  is no doubt the best Choice for Mama Rose.  The film would also benefit if they cast Mandy Patinkin as Herbie.  Reuniting these two in a film project would be money in the bank!  

ANNE HATHAWAY AS JUDY GARLAND WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THIS PROJECT??

At One Time this was a big deal.  Anne was to do the show on Broadway then it was to be made into a film?  This was however when MIRAMAX was owned by Disney.  I know the story of Judy Garland is legendary however the Tv-Movie "Me and My Shadows: Life with Judy Garland" was excellent.  It was on of the best tv-films ever produced.  

THE PLOT FOR STAR WARS 7 SHOULD BE

If I were to have a hand in the next "Star Wars" film I would make the film in the style of Francis Ford Coppala did for "The Godfather Part 2". In other words this film would be Part Sequel Part PreQuel.

I would have the first story being about the Rebels Steeling the Plans of the Death Star and how all of them died trying to get the plans to Princess Leia. Then 2nd Story would be 40 years later reemergence of the Empire. It starts off when Leia's Children find the plans of the Death Star. The story ends when Han Solo's/Princess Leia Son kills Luke and starts a new Empire with an all new plan for another "Death Star".

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE IN A NEW STAR WARS FILM?   

Alan Campbell the Unsung Hero of the Broadway Musical Sunset Boulevard Blvd

 In 1994 Alan Campbell debut in the Los Angeles run of "Sunset Blvd" and its a role he re-created on Broadway.  He played Joe Gillis opposite Glenn Close,Betty Buckley and Elaine Paige".  Now the ladies who played Norma got all the attention however had it not been for Alan Campbell the show would of failed.  Other people played Joe but nobody had a handle like Alan..  

I know if the show ever gets a revival it would never be the "8th Wonder of the World Edition".  That's too bad.  It was an amazing show.  The scaled down versions that I have seen are not very good.  Then again none of them had Alan Campbell.  

SUNSET BOULEVARD GLENN CLOSE FANS WITH FOOTAGE OF THE BROADWAY SHOW

For years now I have been trying to get as much GREAT footage that I could get of Glenn Close as Norma Desmond in the Broadway Show "Sunset Blvd".   However I will take any great footage with any scene that doesn't have her in it.  

The show is legendary for many reasons but love the show or hate it nobody can not deny that this was "Glenn Close's" show.  She won rave reviews and the "TONY AWARD".  She made Norma her own.

After she left the Show "Betty Buckley" took over the role and was great as well.  The show was the "8th Wonder of the World" when it was on Broadway.  The show was so huge that it did need a huge star to overcome the stage effects and have the audience focus on her.   The last actress to play Norma Desmond  was Elaine Paige.  She was an unknown to many American Theater Goers and the she could not fill the theater.  The show with all the effects almost needed to sell out every night to make money.  When it did have a "STAR" it was a sell-out!  Poor Elaine kind of got the blame for the show closing.   

Originally the Broadway Show was to open with the Legendary Icon Patti LuPone.  When created Norma on the West End Production.  When the show got mixed reviews Andrew Lloyd Webber  Don Black Christopher Hampton & Trevor Nun  alll reworked the show for the pre-Broadway run in Los Angeles.  That edition of the show got rave reviews and Patti was pushed out of the Broadway Edition in favor of Glenn Close.   Patti never had the chance to do the re-worked show.  After she was fired Betty Buckley did the re-worked version in London and the show then got better reviews.  

Lter on Faye Dunaway was fired from the Los Angeles production days before she was to hit the stage!   It was interned that 2 Shows were to run in the United States.  One on Broadway and one in Los Angeles.  

However once Andrew Lloyd Webber herd Faye sing he fired her and closed the Los Angeles production,

He did not want to take a chance and have negative reviews about the Los Angeles production!  

Anyway "Sunset Blvd" broke pre-ticket sales and went on to win Tony Award not only for Glenn CLose and the show but also George Hearn.   

If they ever make a movie adaption of this show they should cast Glenn!  She was amazing however always the Bridesmaid when it came to reviews was ALan Campbell.  He was with the show from Los Angeles to New York!  HE was always great but never got the acclaim he should of.   

Now if anybody has any footage of this please let me know!  I am willing to trade you what I have for what you have.   I am trying to put together the best DVD I can of the show!  Once it is done I will give anyone that contributes 2 DVDS of the completed project.  I will not be selling these.

Dakin Matthews The Best Known Unknown but Recognizable Actor

I am huge fan of this guy however until today I had no idea what his name was. until today,  Now many of you will know his face from the great work he has done over the years.  I remember him as the judge in the film "Nuts". He walso the judge in the Tv_movie "Baby-M".

His credits are numerous and no matter wht he has been in he is always great.  I think itts a crime we isn't better known.  I also think if he doesn't have an Emmy Award then this is a crime against the craft of acting.

Remember Mary Beth Whitehead The Story of Baby M ?

 Mary Beth became public enemy #1 when she couldn't give up the baby she agreed to carry as a surrogate mother. An agreement that basically made her slave.  Yes she was "Free" after the baby was born but the bay in reality was 1/2  her to begin with.  Yes she Fled with the baby which was kidnapping that was wrong however I can not judge a poor woman who has a change of heart,  Joint custody should of been arranged but the STERNS (Who had more Money then Mary Beth) fought her in court and she lost.  The court terminated her paternal right however they were later reinstated.
Her true crime to me was not illegal SHE CHANGED HER MIND!  The toll the Whiteheads took is immeasurable.   Mary Beth marriage feel apart and her children were later victims of bullies!  I just recently learned that ON HER 18TH BIRTHDAY THE CHILD THAT MARY BETH FOUGHT SO HARD FOR TERMINATED all contact with Mary Beth.  The Sterns poisoned this girl. Shame on them.  Mary-Beth I am so sorry that your life became so public.  I thought the press treated you bad.

TV VOMIT TWO AND A HALF MEN

TWO AND HALF MEN is now going to enter its 11th season.  I am sure the production has been almost smooth sailing since Charlie was fired however even the last 3 years Charlie was on the Show the show was getting old and no longer funny.  Today the show is not funny but it is now a Zombie.  that CBS can't seem to kill!

William Peterson You promised you would return to do episodes of CSI

The show has not been the same since you left.  I am hoping that you will keep your workd and do a few episodes!  Your fans miss you!

RAINBOW THE EARLY LIFE OF JUDY GARLAND DVD I FINALLY GOT ONE

Thank you Ioffer.com   I was able to find this film and under $10.   I thought I never see it again.  When it came in the mail on Friday and I just finished watching it.     The "Gay Issues" about Judy's Father are between the lines in this film.   The movie is still well worth watching. All the actors do a great job.

SINCE HOLLYWOOD LOVES REMAKES THEN REMAKE "DAMN YANKEES"

The Original Film adaption of this play is okay but a remake should be made.  

The score is great and who wouldn't love to see Ann Hathaway as Lola? 

HOLLYWOOD MAKE "CARNIVAL" YOUR NEXT MUSICAL ADAPTION

Carnival is a musical adaption of the film "LILI".  I won't give too much away but it is a great story that's  is in need of a screen adaption  

Confederacy of Dunces The Movie Should be written and Directed by Alexander Payne

This film should be made but who will be the people behind the camera that could bring the book to cinema life?  I think the perfect person to write & direct this right now would be Alexander Payne.  He is the best American Writer-Director for the job.  


Now casting .... I am not sure...   One thing is certain the film would cost TENS MILLIONS however the auidence for this film might be limited.  The Humor might not travel well outside of the states....

HOLLYWOOD DO NOT MAKE "INTO THE WOODS"

The score of this play is good not great. 90% or more have never ever herd 1 song from this play!  If Hollywood wants to make musicals I am for it!  However make something that people have herd of.  This film will not make money!  Do something else!  

BARBRA STREISAND GYPSY WILL IT GET MADE?

Rumors have been around that Barbra was willing to do a film version of "Gypsy".  Now nothing new has hit the rumor mill in sometime however I think a better idea for a remake that Barbra Streisand should do is "MAME".  The original film was bad and a remake would be most welcomed.  

Hey 40 Somethings Make your Children Watch "The Blues Brothers"

I know your stupid teens will not want to watch this film however MAKE THEM.  Your Children might think Adam Sandler is a comic "GOD" but that's because they have never seen Genius until they See John Belushi!   Released in 1980 the film is still a comic gem and its about as good as a comedy can get!

i saw this film in 1986 and I hated then.  I saw it again not too long ago (don't ask) and my opinion did not change.  TC I think was playing a version of himself.   So that was turn off.  I also found the whole story stupid.   The behavior of "Maverick" would never be tolerated.  The movie to be is still a stupid piece of shit that Michael Bay must of gotten his inspiration from.

No official word yet on a release date but it will happen!   With Disney Needing to recoup its $4 Billion Dollars it needs to release "Holiday Special".  George Lucas hates it but it is an asset that can be a money maker.   Thee is millions of dollars to be made if they release this!    Until they do you can find it on IOFFER.COM  for under $10  

STAR WARS THE ORIGINAL EDITION WILL END UP ON BLU-RAY

If your like me and your a "Star Wars Fan" then you will be the first to buy the Original Version of "Star Wars"  On Blu-Ray when it gets releaseed!

Now since Disney Bought the films from george Lucas they are going to want to recoup their investment asap.  They did pay $4 Billion Dollars for the films and all film rights so a Blu-Ray release is not out of the question!  Now when it does get a release I wouldn't mind if George fixes "matte Lines" and does color corrections.  I just don't want him to add or change existing scenes!  In other words Han Shoots First!

I am sure in the Holiday Special will also get a release!

THE ORIGINAL FRIDAY THE 13TH IS UNDERRATED

Horror films never get respect and this film is no exception!  What gets me is that people treat horror films like shit !  "Friday" is no exception. Now the sequels are not great cinema however the original "Friday the 13th"  delivered what was promised in the adds.  This low budget film delivered the scares!  Not many mainstream Hollywood movies can say the same thing!   The film will always gain new followers because it is good and it scares the hell out of you!

Why TV Needs Murphy Brown Again

Easy Tv needs shows for Adults.  I am tired of bad  1/2 hour sitcoms.  "Murphy Brown" was anything but bad.  Sad thing is that this was a Staple in The CBS line up for years.  Today I don't CBS would even order a pilot of this show if it was pitched today.  The only way ot could be made is "Murphy Brown" is played by Lindsay Lohan....

Go Out and Buy the DVD Season of Designing Women

"Designing Women" has always been in the shadow of other shows when it was originally Broadcast on CBS starting in 1986.  It was called a "Golden Girls" rip-off however anyone who watched 1 episode of "DW" could tell you the only things the shows had in common was they featured a primary female cast and filmed on front of an audience.  Later on "Murphy Brown" ended up with all the acclaim and awards! However "DW" today has a bigger fan base then "Murphy Brown"

(SIDEBAR  25+ years later look at "DW" the show shines bright because it was shot   on film.  "GG" was shot in video and looks cheap)!

"Designing Women" still is funny today as it was in 1986.   I think the shhow will stand the test of time because it was never afraid to tackle controversial subjects and have an opinion on them!  These ladies were "The View" before there was "The View"


God Bless You Linda Bloodsworth & Harry Thomason.  You elevated the sit-com!  

NEW LINE CINEMA IS NOT THE STUDIO OF BOB SHAYE AND WARNER BROTHERS HAS RUINED IT

New Line Cinema is a studio that is owned by Time Warner.  Time Warner came in possession of   New Line when they bought CNN from Ted Turner. Ted Turner  happened to Own New Line Cinema & New Line (AND CASTLE ROCK) were part of the Assets.

A  few years after Ted Turn bought the studio New Line did have one major bomb after another.  When Warner Brothers bought the studio the common wisdom was they would unload New Line however they didn't.  New Line However was for a short time a huge money maker for Warner Brothers however after another year of expensive bombs Warner Brothers closed "New Line Distribution" and  the "New Line Banner" was turned into a production company that releases their films through Warner Brothers.


Now that might not of been to bad however Warner Brothers is so afraid to make "Horror Films". They always have been.  Even though New Line did release remakes of "Friday the 13th" " A Nightmare on Elm St" and "Texas Chainsaw" and they were all very successful  Warner Brothers has yet given the Green Light to Sequels for both "Friday" and "Nightmare".   What is crazy New Line Can produce sequels to those films and they would make money but Warner Brothers seems to be afraid of making money off the these films.  I can understand that however if they don't want to make Horror Movies then they should sell New Line to "LIONS GATE".    That studio is not afraid of anything and they make horror movies.


Warner Brothers should just sell New Line,  they could get $2 Billion for it.    

I FINALLY FOUND "SOMETHING SPECIAL" AKA Willy/Milly I HOPE IT WORKS ITS A 26 YEAR OLD VIDEO TAPE

I saw this film in 1987.  I thought it was okay but all the years I never forgot the film and have been wanting to see it again.  I saw it on e-bay going for $50 but HELL NO.  After looking for it off and on for sometime I finally found it for under $15.  What scares me is that the vhs is 26 years old!  Does Video hold up?  I  am about to find out!  

Remember when the Television Networks Like ABC made Good Tv-Movies Like Duel?

It wasn't that long ago when ABC, CBS, AND NBC each played a Tv_movie on Sunday Nights!   However by the time the era of the TV-Movie was coming to an end we went from Great Tv-Movies like "Duel" (Directed by Steven Spielberg).  to the awful Tori Spelling "Mother Can I sleep with Danger".


Its too bad the networks dumped the tv-film. If it wasn't for the tv-movie we would of never of seen the films "The Day After", "There's Something About Amelia", "The Girl Most Likely To", "Don't Be Afraiad of the Dark", "Trilogy of Terror", "Murder By Natural Causes", "Having Babies":, "The Legend of Lizzie Bordon", "I want To Keep My Baby" "May Jane Harper Cried Lat Night"  

Casablanca colorized dvd

Seeing a film that was originally in BLACK AND WHITE and then in a colorized version is a very bizarre experience. Now I didn't mind seeing the colorized version of "It's a Wonderful Life" in Color but "Casablanca" in color is just wrong.

Whoever did the colorizing on "Casablanca" did a POOR JOB.  Now of the color in the colorized "CASABLANCA" even looks real.  Also the color takes away the atmosphere.

Now Colorizing seems to of gone away now and seeing the results of Casablanca one can see why!.  

Japanese internment camps in America History that is not taught is our schools

Japanese internment camps is a part of American History that most people are not aware of.  If you don't know what I am talking about then shame on you!  These "Camps" were prisons for AMerican Citizens that happen to be Japanese.  After Pearl Harbor it was decided that Japanese people could not be trusted and so all "Japanese Americans" were rounded up and thrown in "camps" but they were really prisons!  Now all of them included the "young and old". Male and Female.    They were all held in prison.  They were polical prisoners!  


Once they were released they had to start over again.  There homes and possessions were gone!  There business were gone.  We hear about slavery reparations all the time but in reality if anyone deserves reparations

then its the people who were in the internment camps...   Just sayin

Does the 1985 Film"The Breakfast Club" need a restoration?

In 2 short years "The Breakfast Club" will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary.   Upon watching the film on blu-ray it struck me that the picture seemed very soft. I just hope if the films negative needs to have a restoration then Universal will give it one.  It would not surprise me if the negative was "in bad shape" and a major restoration is needed.  I justy know that the next transfer Universal makes of this film they should return to the films negative.  A Improved Blu-Ray is needed.

THE Breakfast Club is one of those rare films that has influenced countless filmmakers and television executives! The films impact on TEEN DRAMA'S is still being felt today.  

EVITA THE 1996 FILM

I loved the score for EVITA.  I didn't like the film as much however it is still a much better film  adaption then
"The Producers".   I just wish the Blu_ray  had abetter transfer.  It looks muddy and brown!    

ABBA REUNION PLEASE

A few years ago ABBA was offered the most money you can imagine for a reunion tour!   It was said that the group would get a BILLION DOLLARS but how that would be split up I am sure is anybody;'s guess.  I am sure it would not be equal.  Then men in the group did write and produce the songs and concerts.   However without the amazing voices of the ladies the group would not of been as successful.

I think the reasons why this group has not reunited is because at one time they were 2 married (but now divorced) couples.

I am sure that there is also some long held disagreements and grudges between all of them for various reasons.  \

I do hope one day they do reunite because this group was magical.  Even some of their lesser known songs are solid gems.  "Happy New Year" has echos of the bigger hit "The Winner Takes it All".  I also love the song "Eagle" and "Head Over Heals".  Those songs should be covered by other  artist.  "Eagle" would be a smash if Celine Dion did a version .


Now I can not think of another group that could reunite and sell out stadiums.  The popularity of ABBA has grown every year.  Even Elvis would jealous...   

Amanda Bynes Behavior & Lies are the reason why Cops become Assholes

Amanda Bynes is a mess. She was arrested but she should and could be doing time because of the fact girlfriend got arrested in New York!  There  is no free pass in New York for celebrities!

Now why she was arrested is another story however she claims a police officer slapped her vagina.  Please Girl your behavior is the reason why some police officers become assholes.  

They already have a tough job!  And once they clear the officer I hope he sues you!  

Some Good News for fans of "American Graffiti" and the deleted footage

"American Graffiti" is a classic film.  People under 40 might not think so but those same people love Michael Bay Films.  

"American Graffiti" for years have known about the first cut of ther film which ran 3 hours Long. You see after George Lucas finished filming and put together an assembly cut of the film (the activity of selecting the scenes to be shown and putting them together to create a film) the film ran 3 hours.  What was lost is almost unknown.  Now  George Lucas never had any intention of releasing the film at the length. He did however cut out an hour!  Once it was released the film ran a little under 2 hours!   A few years later about 3 minutes was editied back into the film.



The now legendary assembly cut is nowhere at Universal Studios.  It was "lost".
Now fans dreaming of seeing  the deleted footage one would think could never happen until now.
Here is the good news! 

I saw the Extras on the Blu-Ray "Star Wars" set.  If you look at the extras on DVD 3 (OF THE EXTRAS) there is a documentary called "An Anatomy of a Dewback" and something that someone said on that documentary that caught my ear! 

When you watch the film someone says "George Lucas" has his own film archive. He has saved everything that was shot for his films starting from the beginning with his first film "THX-1138".  Which in a nutshell means george has all the outtakes of "American Graffiti".  So he has the "LOST FOOTAGE"

In fact for the 1997 Special Edition of "Star Wars" that went to his archive so they could restore "Star Wars" and add new things to the background for the "Tatooine" segment of the film. 
Now for those of you who are fans we need to get in touch with Mr Lucas and Beg him to release a documentary that would include the "deleted footage" from American Graffiti.  It would be historic. 
 

 

Now if only George would return to this film that made "THE FORCE POSSIBLE"
