This Amazzing documentary shows have gay & lesbians were portrayed in movies since the dawn of films and lets just say its an eye opener. Now Many things have changed since this film was produced. "Ellen Degeneres" made history by coming out. Gay Marriage is now legal in some states however the more things change the more they stay the same! Case in Point HBO was the only place a film about Liberace could be made. The Gay Theme scared studios and none of them wanted to make it. HBO however did make it (AS WELL AS THE CELLULOID CLOSET).
It has been almost 20 years since "The Celluloid Closet" was made. A Volume 2 would make an intersting film. Gay and Lesbians are still striving for images. Also the policitics of Gasy Hollywood coould be a focus of a segment in the film!
