Mary Beth became public enemy #1 when she couldn't give up the baby she agreed to carry as a surrogate mother. An agreement that basically made her slave. Yes she was "Free" after the baby was born but the bay in reality was 1/2 her to begin with. Yes she Fled with the baby which was kidnapping that was wrong however I can not judge a poor woman who has a change of heart, Joint custody should of been arranged but the STERNS (Who had more Money then Mary Beth) fought her in court and she lost. The court terminated her paternal right however they were later reinstated.
Her true crime to me was not illegal SHE CHANGED HER MIND! The toll the Whiteheads took is immeasurable. Mary Beth marriage feel apart and her children were later victims of bullies! I just recently learned that ON HER 18TH BIRTHDAY THE CHILD THAT MARY BETH FOUGHT SO HARD FOR TERMINATED all contact with Mary Beth. The Sterns poisoned this girl. Shame on them. Mary-Beth I am so sorry that your life became so public. I thought the press treated you bad.
