How to Fix the Annual Academy Awards

The Annual Academy Awards have come and gone. This year the Academy let "Ellen Degeneres" take a turn hosting. She was good not great. The worse host in recent memory has to be "Steve Martin". Now the award show is famous for being long & slow. The reason for that is that there is always so many clip segments. They need to cut that down to only 2. One of them should be the opening segment. The 2nd one should be the role call of the dead. Now here is what else that can be done to liven up this show.

1) Get rid of all the Awards that people don't care about. Have those awards given out at a non-televised event. If your like me you don't care about the following awards

a) Short subjects

b) Editing

c) Sound f/x

d) Sound f/x editing

e) Score

f) Cinema photography

g) Animation Short subject

h) Make Up

i) Best Original Song.

Now I would add more acting awards. Yes go the "Golden Globe" route and add a category for comedies. I would add these awards

A) Motion Picture Comedy

B) Best director Comedy

c) Actress

d) Actor

e) Actress Supporting

f) Actor Supporting

g) Screenplay Adaption

h) Screenplay original

AND MOST OF ALL

i) Best performance by a juvenile actor or actress

People want to see who wins in the Acting awards category's anyway.

If The Annual Academy Awards were to take make these changes the show would generated bigger ratings.

THE MOST MEMORABLE DRESS IN OSCAR HISTORY

THE MOST MEMORABLE DRESS IS OSCAR HISTORY. The American Express Gold Card dress designed by Lizzy Gardiner and worn to the 1995 Academy Awards is displayed at 'A Celebration of Oscar Fashions' held at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills, California, January 30, 2007. Lizzie won the Award for best costume for the movie "The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert".

HOLLYWOOD REMAKE A CHORUS LINE WITH AMERICAN IDOL

I don't mind remakes if the first movie was bad. "Gypsy", and "Annie" were both remade for TV and they were both much better than the original movie editions. This brings me to think that Hollywood should remake "A Chorus Line". A better movie can be made from this play.

Hollywood should beg Rob Marshall to take on the project. He is the best man around to make this new edition work. Since the play is back on Broadway, Hollywood should think about making another movie. Its been 20 years and the movie was the worse Broadway adaption since "Hello Dolly".

If Hollywood were to remake the movie they should cast former "American Idol" finalist.

Ali MacGraw Hollywood give her a call.

I just re watched "Love Story" the other day and now I am in search of Ali MacGraw. I am stumped why she doesn't get work. In the 1970's she was the it girl. She even was with the #1 screen icon Steve McQueen. She also has had a life that Hollywood loves to make movies about.

In 1993 or 1994 I met her when she was promoting a "Yoga" workout tape. She was very nice and very kind to me. Today she can't seem to be found anywhere. Also I think Hollywood should rediscover her. Hollywood seems to cast Susan Sarandon and Meryl Streep when it calls for a part for a woman over 40. I think Ali MacGraw would be a wonderful edition to "Desperate Housewives" or better yet "Ugly Betty". Since Ali is a former model she would be a perfect fit for a role on "Ugly Betty".

In case you have forgotten Ali has numerous credits including "The Getaway", the cult hit "Convoy" & the ratings smash "The Winds of War". The time is right for the return of Ali MacGraw. Hollywood give her a call.

AL Sharpton related to Strom Thurmond

Genealogists have found that civil rights activist the Rev.
Al Sharpton' is a descendant of a slave owned by relatives of the late Sen. Strom Thurmond, a newspaper reported Sunday.

I Love Al Sharpton. I think he is a great man. I find it puzzling that he is also related to Strom Thurman, a man who was a miserable excuse for a human being. Goes to show us that we are all connected.

Looking for Cindy Tim and Shannon Mckenzie

This is Stan. You out there?

ELLEN DEGENERES 10 YEARS AFTER THE PUPPY EPISODE

In April of this year it will mark 10 years since "Ellen" came out publicly. It will also mark the 10th Anniversary of the 1hr long "Puppy Episode". That was the episode in which the TV character "Ellen Morgan" came out. It was a almost a year in the making. ABC/DISNEY had to put up with allot of controversy however thanks to "Ellen", and ABC president Jamie Tarsus "Ellen" came out. It was a milestone. It was history. It was the first time a lead TV character was gay. When the episode aired it was the #1 show of the week. It was also a critical hit. Something that the show never had before. That episode won an "EMMY" for writing. It also won the "PEABODY AWARD".

ABC however did not promote the last two episodes that aired the following two weeks. This was sad because the episode in which she tell her parents is a very funny and touching episode.

The show was now in major hot water the following year. Ellen Degeneres couldn't catch a break. Chasity Bono (who appeared in one of the coming out episodes) even called the show "TOO GAY" and Elton John said " Shut Up and just be funny". Ellen the TV show was tagged the following year with Parental Advisory warning. Before the show would air the Network had this on the screen, THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM MAYBE UNSUITABLE FOR ALL AUDIENCES VIEW DISCRETION IS ADVISED FOR THOSE UNDER 14. This did not make "Ellen" happy. Who could blame her. The show was at its creative best. 2 episodes are now some of the funniest shows ever made for TV. The episode called "The Gay Yellow Pages", and "Emma Thompson" are just great. ABC however did not even help the show. They failed to promote the show. The ratings sank and the show came to an end. Ellen Degeneres career also seem to be over. She had a hard time getting work. However if it wasn't for "Ellen" the show NBC would not of had the balls to air "Will & Grace". That show broke ground by having the Central male character be gay.

Ellen made major headlines durring the last season of "ellen" by voicing the fact she wasn't getting work. She also pointed out that ABC was not standing by her. However "ellen" would reemerge as a superstar again belive it or not with the help of Disney (VIA PIXAR).

Ellen was the voice in the Disney Smash "Finding Nemo". The movie was released the Summer before her talk show debut. Nobody thought her show would hit. . Her last TV job lasted less than 1 season when she had a sitcom on CBS. However "Ellen" the talk show became on instant hit with viewers. Ellen had made a huge comeback. Now she is hosting the the Academy Awards and its on ABC almost 10 years after the "Puppy Episode".

The world has changed since "Ellen" came out. She made life so much better for so many people. Its only fitting that she is hosting a show on a Network that years before was avoiding her and not promoting her. Now they can't stop promoting the fact she is hosting the Award show. Ellen Degeneres is making history again. The first openly gay person to host the Academy Awards. Its amazing but "Ellen" has come full circle at ABC. Way to go.

IS "30 ROCK" TOO SMART FOR AN AVERGE TV AUIDENCE

This is the best comedy show on TV today. Maybe one of the best shows in the last 10 years. One thing for certain is that its very smart and the credit goest to writer & star Tina Fey.

NBC has an Emmy wining Comedy on its hands. They need time to let the show grow and let the people find it. It will take sometime. Its a very smart well written comedy. American Audiences sometimes are slow to almost everything that's good or, good for them.

Tina Fey brings on the laughs and loves to poke fun at everything. It would be sad if NBC cancels the show. If they were 1/2 as smart as Tina Fey NBC would renew the show and pick up the struggling CBS show "The Class". These shows are funny. If these were to air back to back on Tuesdays they will help NBC regain its must see status. Maybe NBC could rename 30 Rock to "Law and Order: Comedy Intent"

Remember NBC "Seinfeld" & "Cheers" took a few years to find an audience. Give this show sometime as well. I am sure you have nothing better to replace it with.

SUPERMAN II PLEASE DO ANOTHER EDITION

As much as I love "Superman II" the Richard Donner Edition I just can't help it to think that the end result should of been better. I was very happy that after years of begging the fans were able to get Warner Brothers to release THIS edition of"Superman II". This edition is known as The Richard Donner Cut. The director was able to restore his vision of the movie. In case you didn't know Richard Donner was fired before he could complete it. Director Richard Lester was hired to finish it in 1979. Now 30 years later Donner has returned to finish his edition. To read more on the controversy please check it out on http://www.wikipedia.com/. Now the new edition of the movie suffers a little because it leaves out scenes that Richard Lester shot. Who would of thought that Richard Donner's edition of this movie would suffer because he edited out Richard Lester footage? The movie is still very enjoyable. Now if everybody set aside their egos they can put together a better edition. A better editionof the movie would have to include the following:

1) More footage from Niagra Falls.
2) More footage from East Houston include the boy meeting his demise
3) More footage from all the Daily Planet Scenes
4) Reincorporate some of Richard Lester's Daily Planet Reaction shots
during the Metropolis Battle.
6) Lex being taken away by the police
7) Lex 2nd getaway from prison
8) Put in the bully in the hallway
10) Re-edit the ending. Have Lois remember Clark is Superman

Forget who shot what. Just please don't forget re-insert the scene where the boy gets killed by NON. This scene however has only been shown on TV and is not on the Lester or Donner edition.

MAYBE NBC WILL HAVE "CLASS"

CBS freshmen sitcom "The Class" is struggling in the ratings. It was from the creators of "Mad About You", and "Friends". However it could become a hit if it airs on NBC.

It could happen. NBC canceled "JAG" after 1 year. It ended up on CBS and ran for years. In fact the spin off of "Jag" is on the air now on CBS called "Navy CIS".

If NBC does pick up the show for next season I would tell them more "David Keith" and "Sam Harris"(There funny)& Less Jason Ritter.

PETER JACKSON: LORD OF THE RINGS & EGO

Peter Jackson made billions of dollars for New Line Cinema and his "Lord of the Rings movies". Peter Jackson also made hundreds of millions of dollars for himself from the "Lord of the Rings" movies without risking any of his own money.
Along the way he also picked up Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Director. New Line Cinema saved his ass and made him a "NERD ICON" after MIRAMAX aborted Peter Jackson's idea of a mega budgeted i of the "Lord of the Rings Trilogy".

Now Peter wants an audit of New Line to make sure he was not underpaid. I can't blame him. However he should be happy that New Line had the balls to make three movies at the same time. They risked $300,000,000. What did Peter Jackson risked? Well nothing but, was paid handsomely paid for his efforts. He was paid over $200,000,000 for all 3 movies. Cry me a river Peter. The Studio risked their money you risked NOTHING. Lots of people at the studio risked their jobs to see your vision. In fact one was fired for it!

Now Peter there is millions of fans that love you and your three "RINGS" movies. You should of made "The Hobbit" for them. They made you rich!

New Line Cinema should not settle with Peter. They should make "The Hobbit" without him. Peter Jackson isn't the only director in town. It seems unlikely that Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema will kiss and make up! If they do you can bet that Peter Jackson will get a bigger percentage this time. However Peter Jackson will not let his lawsuit go. That's to bad. New Line made him a legend. New Line paid him allot of money already and Peter Jackson did not risk any of his own money. I think $200,000,000 is more than enough.Peter Jackson also should just be thankful that he can direct another movie. "King Kong" went over budget. It was a 3hr plus epic that did not come close in making as much money as one "Lord of the Rings" movie. If you watch King Kong you can see a directors ego get in the way of making a great movie. The movie was too long and Peter Jackson could not stand to cut one second out of it. HE had final cut! I agree it was a good movie but it was too long. Universal Studios was of course was stupid in the fact they gave him final cut. It should of been final cut if the movie was 2 1/2 hours. His "Lord of the Rings" movies were 3hrs so he thought King Kong would be great too at 3hrs. However everybody knows that "King Kong" falls off the Empire State Building at the end Had the movie been shorter he would of made more money for him and the studio. So Now Peter Jackson is off and pouting that New Line screwed him. Isn't it obvious His ego is getting in the way again. I say bravo New Line hire Sam Raimi. He is a better director.

Keep doing your thing Tyler Perry. Success breads jealousy.

Keep doing your thing Tyler Perry. Success breads jealousy. This man (here on left as his famous character Madea) has as many fans as he does critics. The audience that loves his work is not the critical mass. His main audience is Christian African American Women. They flock to see his movies and plays. However for some reason he lacks the respect that "Spike Lee" gets. Maybe its because his movies are successful, heart warming , funny and to top it off THEY MAKE MONEY.
He has fans & critics from both the "African American" and "Mainstream Press". What I love about his movies and plays is that at the end you feel better about the human experience. Maybe other artist
should take notice. You can make a funny movie with a point. Congradulations Sir on your success.

WANTED: MY BLOODY VALENTINE UNRATED EDITION ON DVD

In the early 1980's for every holiday there was a slasher flick. Yes 99% of them are not worth re-watching or even remaking. By the time "My Bloody Valentine" was Horror/slasher movies were coming under attack. Paramount a year earlier released "Friday the 13th" and was about to release the sequel "Friday the 13th Part 2". They didn't want a movie they couldn't release.

You'll make cash when your movies slash. That was belief. According to a documentary the MPAA president was mad that PARAMOUNT PICTURES (a major motion picture company) was releasing low budget Canadian made horror movies. The MPAA was cracking down on hard on horror movies.

This led to the producers of "My Bloody Valentine" to cut 9 minutes of gore. To this day it hasn't been seen by the public. "MBV" has a smallish cult following. There is a market however for this movie in its unrated form. Paramount however doesn't release unrated movies. The producers of "MBV" own the deleted footage. That want to release an unrated edition of their movie. But I don't think Paramount will not allow them to buy back the movie. These are the same producers that made the horror movie "Happy Birthday to Me".

It was rumored/reported that the producers wanted to make sequels to these movies using some or all of the deleted footage from the originals. However I herd nothing more of these sequels.

Now what gets me mad is that these movies were rated "R". Children under 17 were not permitted without a parent or adult guardian. However PARENTS again were complaining that these movies were to violent. Well yes they are violent but these movies were not made for children. So why were these parents complaints even valid. These horror movies were made for 17 year olds, not 7 years old. If their child saw these violent movies it was the parents fault not the movie studios.

However the horror movie cycle seem to end when FOX released "PORKY'S". By the following year TEEN SEX COMEDIES replaced horror. Those teen sex movies came under attack from the same people. You have to remember this was the Reagan era.

Now that horror movies are very popular again we are getting remakes of horror movies. This time they are remaking them as PG-13 movies. The reason the studio do this is because a PG-13 rated horror movie called "The Ring" did $130,000,000 at the box office. Horror was back but this time there was no blood and not as fun. Recent horror movies that were rated PG-13 were "When a Stranger Calls" and "The Fog". They were not money makers. They were also remakes. The originals were rated "R". However "The Fog" and "When a Stranger Calls" were released on DVD they came with unrated editions. Those edition out sold their PG-13 Editions.

However the fans of 1980's horror are still waiting for the unrated editions of "My Bloody Valentine", "The Friday the 13th Series", "Halloween VI", "The Burning" and "Happy Birthday to Me". Maybe the new horror movie channel will get the ball rolling and air these movies and others in all their intended & unrated bloody glory!

IS THIS THE SAME NANCY GRACE FROM JANUARY?

I love Nancy Grace. I really do, However she was attacking Anna Nicole Smith just 3 weeks ago. I can't blame her for that. She was mad that Anna Nicole was dogging the DNA test of her daughter. Now that Anna is dead Nancy seem to forget that she was attacking Anna. Now that Anna is dead she seems to be fighting in the name of justice for Anna Nicole. It was shows like "Nancy Grace" that led to the possible suicide of Anna Nicole!

Britney Spears leaves Rehab again.

Britney Spears has left yet another rehab. This is her 2nd trip in & out of rehab in less than a week. I am not going to make jokes here however its very tempting.

I am beginning to think this past week has been nothing but a publicity stunt. From the bald head to the rehab stints. I just hope she didn't flee "Promises" because she and Lindsey didn't want to miss Happy Hour.

Hurray for Craig Ferguson A Late NIght Hero for once

I met Craig Ferguson in 1997. I had no idea who he was. About a week later I saw him on the ABC TV show "Politically Incorrect" with Bill Maher. I was shocked. I then saw him a week later on "The Drew Carey Show". Then I knew oh he was an actor.

Well the other night he "said on his Talk show" that he would not say jokes about Britney Spears. He was happy he has 15 years of being sober. ( I have almost 10). He then touched upon what Britney Spears did over the weekend. He said that he was glad to be having "his" weekend and not hers. This brought me almost to tears. I was like Britney too. I was happy too that my life was no longer out of control. It was a nice thing for Craig to to say upon the lines of "She needs help and I don't want to make jokes when someone is down and at a low point".

If you read my previous post I gave advice to people who could help her.

What Craig did was "Leading by example"! Bravo!

HEATHER MILLS A HERO IS COMING?

I will not joke about something like this. I don't know exactly why she and Sir Paul are getting a divorce. All I do know is that she has a prosthetic leg. She lost her leg ( I think due to a car hitting her) and now she is a contestant in a the dance competition show "Dancing with the Stars". Good for her. She will be an inspiration to all of us!

I know lots of people dislike her. That's fine. I have to agree with people that say "she comes across rude in interviews".

Now I have respect for her because she is putting herself out there and is willing to show the world what she can do.

I have a cousin that when she was a teen she lost part of her leg to bone cancer. She still did dance completions after she lost part of her leg. So what I am getting at here is that
Heather Mills will be an inspiration to lots of troops coming home with a missing leg. It will show them you can still have an active life. I wish her well.

STUDIO 60 IF MORE EPISODES WERE LIKE THIS

The episode that aired on 2/19 was probably the swan song for the troubled NBC drama "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip". A talented cast and one of the best writers who ever worked on Television, created a show that was well made but somehow the show a semi disaster.

Some say the show became a mess from the 2nd episode. I can see why people would think this.

The show within the show premise was a good idea but some how the show within the show is called "Studio 60" a "Saturday Night Live Type Show", However when we see the "Studio 60" it came across like a very bad TV show. The actors on the show playing actors on "Studio 60" seemed like cartoon characters.
Even the Christian Lady seemed like a "Hollywood's Idea of a conflicted Christian".

That episode had a sketch that was performed however the man who wrote the sketch stole it from a stand up comic.

Aaron Sorkin should of done more research on what goes behind the scenes of "Saturday Night Live". He should of hired people who did write for that show. Maybe then the show might of worked. "30 Rock" which is also on NBC works because all of the creative talent did work at "SNL". Aaron Sorkin should of done more research before he wrote a show based on the surroundings of "SNL"

For all of "Studio 60'S" short comings the last episode went out with a bang. It was the best episode since "The Pilot". The show had a few great laughs and some great serious moments as well. The show finally seemed to be working. Now its on hiatus which is code word for "canceled". The shows ratings were going from bad to worse. Can't blame NBC for that the show was on its 2nd chance.

The show was almost yanked off the air earlier this season. NBC was stalling ordering a full season. Aaron Sorkin knew that this was a bad sign. So he approached NBC to get a full season commitment out of the network.

NBC gave it a full season pick up by telling Warner Brothers Television and Aaron Sorkin to "Try to focus "Studio 60" on romance".

I disagree what NBC told the producers. The producers should of stuck with the politics of show business. The "How they met episode was dreadful".

If NBC cancels the show I can't blame them. The show never lived up to its promise even before the Networks "creative" interference. However after some time the suggestive adjustments that NBC asked for the show seemed to working. But its a case of being a little too late.

THE CLASS A SHOW MORE PEOPLE SHOULD WATCH

This show is a classic example of showing you Can have too many cast members in a 30 minute show. However don't let that stop you from watching this show. There is parts of the show that I don't like. (Any scene with Jason Ritter), However every time David Keith or Sam Harris show up I know that I am in for a good laugh. However they are not the stars & these guys only have recurring roles and show up (maybe) every other episode. Both of these men first gained fame in the 1980's. Sam Harris t gained fame by winning the the first season of "Star Search".
David Keith had a co-starring role in the classic Hollywood movie "An Officer and a Gentleman"

The show needs to give Sam Harris & David Keith more screen time. Then it might become the water cooler show it was meant to be.

If you haven't watched it check it out.

SHERRI SHEPHERD SHOULD JOIN THE VIEW

SHERRI SHEPHERD SHOULD JOIN THE VIEW.

As much as want this to happen I hope Barbara Walters is not against hiring another comedian to be on the panel. Sherri is funny & smart. She brings high energy whenever she is a guest host. In fact the first time I saw her this summer I wrote ABC and said hire her. Well they must be listening to me because she has been back several times.
Sherri might be best known for her recurring role on "Everybody Loves Raymond". She played Roberts partner.

Now if only "The View" will hire on Erin Hershey Presley to replace Elisabeth Hasselbeck. It came down to Erin and Elizabeth. They made the wrong choice then. Now is the time to correct that. That bitch has to go. She adds nothing.

Friends Reunion in the works? Don't count on it...yet

Is there going to be a Friends Reunion. If they do they can call it "The One with the Reunion". However I wouldn't count on a reunion anytime soon. The last year of the show each cast member was making $1,000,000 an episode. However its not like any of them have had any breakout success since "Friends". Jenifer Aniston has had one hit movie called "The Break Up. However none of the other stars have had any major hits under their belt. Matt LeBlanc had the major bomb "Joey". Which was the worse TV Spin off show since "After M*A*S*H".

Matthew Perry seemed at first to have a hit on his hand when "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" premiered on NBC. The pilot episode was great and had solid ratings. Then it quickly turned into a huge mess and a ratings disaster. Courtney Cox has a show on FX called "Dirt" however the show is not a ratings hit. Word is out on a 2nd season. Lisa Kudrow had a bomb on HBO called "The Comeback". God only knows where David Schwimmer is. So career wise these cast members need to reunite. NBC needs a hit. Jenifer Aniston said she would like to do a reunion set on "Thanksgiving".

The only problem with reunion movies is that well they suck. To me a reunion episode should be a 2hr show filmed in front of an audience. They could film it like 4 episdoes of the show. Film it in 30 minute segments and have it be in four parts when it airs later in syndication.

Why African American Award Shows Are Important

Why African American Award Shows Are Important ?

There have been rumblings that this year for the first time the low key event known as "The Black Academy Awards" was cancelled. Yes its great that this year more minorities were recognized by the academy. However the Academy Awards doesn't draw a huge African American audience. Who can blame them? I don't. For years the Award show ignored plenty of great work done by African Americans. To me its very sad that the first African American Woman to win for best actress was just a few short years ago. Diana Ross gave a commanding performance in "Lady Sings the Blues". Whoppi Goldberg was great in "The Color Purple" but they lost. Today both of those movies are still popular. Dorothy Dandridge was ignored as well for "Carmen Jones". Today that movie is more popular than the day it was first released.

This is why the NAACP came up with the image awards. This was a way to celebrate the talent in the African American community. It also gave the talent exposure to a TV audience that may not of herd of the movie they were in. Its also a golden way to show that their work was not unnoticed by other African American artist.

I think the NAACP IMAGE AWARDS should be broadcast on a National Network and give it the same respect that the other award shows get. For some reason it isn't. I also think that the GLADD MEDIA AWARDS should be televised as well. These awards go to actors who played a gay or lesbian charectors.

Minorities need award shows because it show being a minority is fine and your not alone.

Dead Stars Like Anna Nicole Smith Make Money

Anna Nicole is dead. However like the estates of Elvis, John Lennon, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Selena, John Wayne her name will still bring in money. The question is who will own the name her name? The owner can then make money selling Anna Nicole's "Name, Likeness, & Image". This is a gold mine. Just ask Lisa Marie.

Some how I see her lawyer Howard K. Stern raking it in. Years from now he will still be getting millions of dollars a year from all things related to Anna Nicole. I am sure now he is making a book deal. The sad thing is why didn't he help her. He threw her in front of Camera's almost every week since her son's death to her very own. Shame on you.

HALLOWEEN II THE SPECIAL EDITION DVD

HALLOWEEN II THE SPECIAL EDITION DVD.
Are we the fans ever going to get a Special Edition of our much beloved "Halloween II"?

"Halloween II" has a funny history. John Carpenter was involved with the movie because he (John Carpenter) felt he was stilled owed money from the first Halloween movie.

John & Debra wrote "Halloween II". However he felt there was no need for a sequel. He wrote and produced "Halloween II".anyway. He didn't want to direct the sequel. Later however he did direct the re-shoots & insert shots for the movie. John Carpenter also decided to make Michael Myers Laurie Strode's brother in the sequel. This was a year after Darth Vader said to Luke Skywalker "Luke I am your father".

"Halloween II" was released theatrically in 1981. It was a box office hit. In 1982 Halloween III was released however it did not have Michael Myers in the plot at all. Just when fans thought they saw the last of Michael Myers the TV edition of "Halloween II" premiered in 1983 and just like "Halloween I" there was never before scene footage in the TV broadcast. The fans went wild.

The reason why there was so much extra footage in the TV edition is that "Halloween II" had lots of things re-shot by John Carpenter himself. He re- shot things because he thought "Halloween II" was as scary as a "Quincy Episode".
Unlike "Halloween I" where the producers went back and filmed footage to put in the TV edition, the footage in "Halloween II" was deleted footage. This is however not a closer version of the Rick Rosenthal edition. The TV edition was edited at the time to meet the approval of standards and practices which were in placed at the time of the Broadcast premiere. The movie also needed to padded out to fit a 2hr time slot. The movie needed to be 95-96 minutes. The theatrical edition was only 91 minutes.

Now the TV edition is very strange. It is edited very differently. I will not go into lots of details however the opening is re-edited scenes are rearranged and there is plenty of alternate take put in. There is also more footage of Michael going through the Hospital. The ending is sweet.
Now what would a special edition of Halloween II include? Well this is what I would like:

* The Original Rick Rosenthal edition
* The TV edition
* The Original Theatrical Edition
* Deleted Footage
* Rick Rosenthal commentary
* Jamie Lee Curtis commentary

In the "Halloween 25 years of terror" the director of Halloween II talks about a scene that has never been released to the public. It sounds very scary- I would love to see this.
Now the reason why "Halloween II" doesn't have a special edition isn't very clear. What is known is that "John Carpenter & Jamie Lee Curtis" hate the movie. So they most likely would not want any involvement.

There is a demand for this movie as a special edition! However there are a few problems

1) Universal did not make the movie they only released it. Dino De Laurentiis made the movie! So Universal doesn't own the deleted footage! Also they only syndicate "Halloween II" THE TV version. They release the movie that the producers give them for TV showings. A DVD release of that version is not part of the option!
2) Universal owns the Home Video rights for the United States and Canada. Believe it or not Lions Gate owns international home video rights!
3) The cost of a special edition of this movie would have to be split between 3 parties A) Universal B) Lions Gate C) Dino De Laurentiis
4) Rick Rosenthal would want to be paid for a commentary! The actor for interviews would want to be paid as well. IF they went with the writers that would be John Carpenter and Debra Hill! John Carpenter as far as hates Halloween II and would not want anything to do with a special edition! Also Debra Hill died last year. TO bad she would of given an interview!
5) Jamie Lee Curtis has stated she didn't like "Halloween II" and so I doubt if she would give an interview!
6) There is no money to be made on this! At best it would break even!
7) Dino De Laurentiis & Lions Gate will not put a dime into the special edition because the "Halloween Movies" do not have a huge international following! It has a loyal following however its not huge enough for "Lions Gate" to pony up some cash. The box set of of the :Halloween Movies" that was released in the UK did not meet sales projections.

I think its because "Halloween" is an American Holiday. "Halloween" outside the United States is just another day. So people outside the USA have no idea what "Halloween" is.

Don't get me wrong I would love a Special Edition but I don't see this happening unless people here in the states would pay a high price for it? Would you pay $50 for a DVD of "Halloween II". What if it included a special edition of "Halloween III"?

Come Back to the 5 and Dime Jimmy Dean CHER

Older VHS release
This movie is one of those movies that you wander why isn't released on DVD.. This has a top notch cast. Its directed by the late Great Robert Altman. This movie proved Cher could act. However a little known actress by the name of Kathy Bates still steals the movie.
The movie is based on the play. The Broadway cast reunites for the movie version. In case you didn't know this is a"reunion" story. Instead of high school its the 20th Anniversary of the death of James Dean and his big fan club from a small town.
Its an amazing movie. Its not for everybody. However this is one of those movies that scream special edition DVD. However its not even released. If you have never seen you should. You will be surprised.

Lets solve this for the John Walsh family

In case you didn't know. There is a book that's coming out or is already in print about the fact that Dahmer killed Adam Walsh. Jeffrey Dahmer & Adam Walsh To me its the angel and the devil. The innocent and the all so guilty.

I don't know if John Walsh will ever know what happen to his son Adam. This must be the biggest all time cold case of all time. My heart goes out to the Walsh family. John Walsh and his wife have been advocates for children of the world for over 25 years. They have done great things for victims rights and had many laws changed to protect children.

The murder of Adam Walsh needs to be solved. This country owes this to the John Walsh family. After 26 years the case remains cold. Now there is a book coming out on the murder of Adam. I hope there was enough evidence for an author to pinpoint Dahmer. I hate the fact that someone might of put a "theory" in print just to make money. This is the crime of the century. It needs to be solved.
If the book author and publisher have a conscience then all of the money they make from this book should go to the center of missing and exploited children. Somehow I don't think that is going to happen.

Sally Kirkland A lifetime of being on the D-List

Sally Kirkland will do anything to get her name in the press. She has now officially jumped on "what happened to Anna Nicole".
Sally Kirkland (who has spent more time on the D-List then Kathy Griffin) now has been quoted as saying: "Anna may have had leaking breast implants". "This is why she (Anna Nicole) was taking methadone for the pain as well as vicodin".
Sally went on to say she had a bad experience with her breast implants and that she was on pain medication.
Sally Kirkland you don't do anything. If you need work they are remaking "Friday the 13th". You should get your agent to set up a meeting with New Line and Paramount. You could play Jason's mom. Pamela Voorhees. The role that was played by Betsy Palmer. Maybe then people will know who you are!

Ted Haggard IS STILL GAY & DR JAMES DOBSON IS THE DEVIL

Ted Haggard went into therapy to pray away the gay. Give me a fucking break. He is a classic closeted gay man. We all know those. They are the ones that make the stupid jokes and then go out of their way to prove they are not gay. Well I know of lots of people who were gay but got married "because they felt they had to". Well Ted did this and I can forgive him for that. However he was getting the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES to pass a AMENDMENT to ban gay marriage. This was also called behind closed doors "fag burning". Nice man isn't he! What an asshole! He was getting high with a male hooker and buying drugs. He has now 2 things that I would never dream of well 3 things I would never marry a woman! Ted Haggard is now straight because He went into "therapy for 3 weeks and now he is straight again" according to fucking Dr James Dobson! Trust me Ted Still wants a dick! And in a way he does already his friend Dr James Dobson- who is a dick!

Dr James Dobson is a dangerous man! He preaches they gays are going to hell. He thinks all gay men have over 3,000 sexual partners in their lifetime. ( No we don't James I have had only 3). He also says gay couples cheat on each other and we don't ever want a committed relationship. Well that's bullshit. I have been with my partner for 9 years and we are not cheating on each other.

Dr James Dobson is now saying Ted is straight. This is a laugh. He is still a gay man. Even if he is just having sex with a woman. If he has lust in his heart for another man then he is still gay!

Dr James Dobson thinks the devil made Ted gay and has said so. If you think about it the devil made Dr James Dobson. The gay people have to fight his evil doing everyday. I hope one day when Dr James Dobson is sick and in the hospital he has a gay nusrse that gives him ther riot act. I hope his last words on earth that he hears is "I hope you rot in hell you son of a bitch"

Should the Press Out Gay Celebrities

Should the Press Out Gay Celebrities? There is always rumors about some star of some show being gay. There is also rumors of movie stars who never got married. Also it seems the more likely a star is rumored to be gay that all of the sudden we hear about them "hooking up with their co-star".
There in nothing to be ashamed of.

"Ellen" "Tr Knight" "Neil Patrick Harris" and Nathan Lane" have come out. Clay has not. However being gay isn't something that should be hidden anymore! Who cares what a former basketball player thinks.

Should the Press Out Gay Celebrities?

Barbara Walters A class act

Barbara has been taking a few hard knocks lately. First Star Jones and then Donald Trump. She has also been taking crap from the far right press for hiring Rosie. What people seem to forget Barbara's show is called "The View".
This is a show about "women's points of view". Men still hate women with a strong personality. The far right have been after "The View" since Barbara hired "Rosie". The far right hates gay people bringing up any gay issues. Barbara hired "Rosie". She knew "Rosie" would be a great addition. The show is now a must see event. I have to admit that I love the controversy the show creates. However it always to starts from people in the press taking anything that "Rosie" has said and putting it out of context. Barbara Walters is a legend. I am tired of the men in the press still trying to bring her down. They are jealous because she made it in a mans world.

HOW BRITNEY SPEARS FAMILY CAN HELP HER

Britney Spears needs help. She was in a rehab for less than 24hrs. Now here is a photo she has now shaved her head. I would make a stupid joke however I am not going too. Britney needs to check in somewhere and get help fast. The last year she seems to be headed in the same direction as Anna Nicole-Smith. From her disastrous interview with Matt Lauer , a divorce, birth, all night partying, to now a shaved head she is in trouble. Why isn't somebody helping. She was in rehab for 24 hours? Somebody needs to come into her life and say she (Ms Spears)is unfit. This person needs to take over her Ms Spears finances. Just yesterday she shaves her head and gets two tattoos. Then goes to the hospital not to check in but to go meet the angels.
This reminds me of Anne Heche who took Ecstasy and was going to meet
up with a spaceship in Fresno, CA.

Britney has been rumored before to be in rehab before. She drys out for 2 or 3 days and returns to whatever. Now she has 2 children. She needs to clean up. Her ex is going to get custody and now that might not be such a bad thing! The poor girl has lost it. We are all witnessing yet another celebrity on the verge of killing themselves. Who knows if her death will an accident or by choice.

You might not think a woman could lose her children but it does happen. Here is what we know Britney has done in the past few months:

1) All night girls night out with Paris and Lindsey. Now Lindsey is in rehab.
2) Passes out at a Vegas Night Club on New Years
3) Threw up at a party last weekend
4) Found sleeping in a car at 6am.
5) Rehab in and out
6) Shaves her head

Britney you need help. Life is not like "Sex and the City". I hope you get the help you need. Your not a bad person. You need to be a mother first now. Your not a single girl on the town. Your a single mom. Your children need you. You will lose your children if you don't lose your life first!

Girl I have been there. My life wasn't in the tabloids but I know your pain. You need help. A lock down place is where your heading to. It might even be jail or worse.

Now if there is a person who is related to Britney this is what you should do.

A) Get a temporary custody of her children and do it fast.
B) Get a lawyer. Then get in court for a sanity hearing.
C) Become her guardian fast. She can lose all of her money in a short time.
D) Her whole family needs to get in therapy with her. Her mom & dad and the rest.
E) She needs to be under a suicide watch.
F) She needs to have no contact with "Paris & Lindsey".
G) Someone needs to rent a house so she can pull it together.
Do not alert the press of a temporary address!
H) Remind her that her life can fall apart like Whitney Houston & Courtney Love.
I) Someone should make her watch all the stories on "Anna Nicole"
J) Her Record company needs to go over to her Management and say "We will sue you
Ms. Spears if you don't clean up. You do have a morals clause in your contract.

They better help her fast before she starts dating Anna Nicoles Lawyer Howard K. Stern
