PETER JACKSON: LORD OF THE RINGS & EGO

Peter Jackson made billions of dollars for New Line Cinema and his "Lord of the Rings movies". Peter Jackson also made hundreds of millions of dollars for himself from the "Lord of the Rings" movies without risking any of his own money.
Along the way he also picked up Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Director. New Line Cinema saved his ass and made him a "NERD ICON" after MIRAMAX aborted Peter Jackson's idea of a mega budgeted i of the "Lord of the Rings Trilogy".

Now Peter wants an audit of New Line to make sure he was not underpaid. I can't blame him. However he should be happy that New Line had the balls to make three movies at the same time. They risked $300,000,000. What did Peter Jackson risked? Well nothing but, was paid handsomely paid for his efforts. He was paid over $200,000,000 for all 3 movies. Cry me a river Peter. The Studio risked their money you risked NOTHING. Lots of people at the studio risked their jobs to see your vision. In fact one was fired for it!

Now Peter there is millions of fans that love you and your three "RINGS" movies. You should of made "The Hobbit" for them. They made you rich!

New Line Cinema should not settle with Peter. They should make "The Hobbit" without him. Peter Jackson isn't the only director in town. It seems unlikely that Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema will kiss and make up! If they do you can bet that Peter Jackson will get a bigger percentage this time. However Peter Jackson will not let his lawsuit go. That's to bad. New Line made him a legend. New Line paid him allot of money already and Peter Jackson did not risk any of his own money. I think $200,000,000 is more than enough.Peter Jackson also should just be thankful that he can direct another movie. "King Kong" went over budget. It was a 3hr plus epic that did not come close in making as much money as one "Lord of the Rings" movie. If you watch King Kong you can see a directors ego get in the way of making a great movie. The movie was too long and Peter Jackson could not stand to cut one second out of it. HE had final cut! I agree it was a good movie but it was too long. Universal Studios was of course was stupid in the fact they gave him final cut. It should of been final cut if the movie was 2 1/2 hours. His "Lord of the Rings" movies were 3hrs so he thought King Kong would be great too at 3hrs. However everybody knows that "King Kong" falls off the Empire State Building at the end Had the movie been shorter he would of made more money for him and the studio. So Now Peter Jackson is off and pouting that New Line screwed him. Isn't it obvious His ego is getting in the way again. I say bravo New Line hire Sam Raimi. He is a better director.
