Forget HDTV. We need better shows. However I hate the commercials that seem to pop up every other minute. In England they do something I would love to see done here. In England they play the whole TV show then run adds between shows. They do not play commercials at all during the shows, they play uninterrupted. We should make them do that here. However we can't however they could cut down on the amount of commerciasl they show! We now get upto 20 minutes an hour of commercials! That's 1 minute out of every 3 minutes.
It wasn't that long ago when commercials were limited here in the united states! In fact did you know that "Cheers" episodes were 25 minutes each. It was a 1/2 hr show! Now a show that is 30 minutes is no only 21m45sec! This is stupid. I think Free TV should be limited to only showing 10% of the air time to commercials. Can you imagine how much better TV would be if they did this?
