THOSE OLD CHRISTMAS RECORDS YOU REMEMBER CAN BE FOUND HERE

The older I am getting the more fondly I am remembering the Christmas of my childhood.  I grew up in the era before CD'S and Mp3 or digital downloads.  Today its hard to find a decent Christmas Collection.  For years I wanted to find the Christmas Albums I grew up with.  To me Christmas music should have the "snap crackle and pop noise" you hear before a song gets played. 

 There is something about vinyl records that has never been been duplicated on CD's or anywhere else.  To me its almost not Christmas until I hear these records.  Now its been years since I herd these records and now I found a web page that has them and I am looking forward to listening to them once again.  I already bought the Reader Digest Collection and I love it!  It brought tears of joy to hear that collection again.    

So now I am getting the Grants Christmas Collection.  Grants for a chain store that went bankrupt almost 40 years ago. However growing up in Oxnard CA  Grants was the place to go for Christmas stuff. From indoor/outdoor decorations to Christmas albums that were made exclusively for GRANTS.  Now these records were not done by "Unknown singers",   These recordings were done by real singers you herd of.  I am looking forward to these.  I have nothing but wonderful memories of these albums!  I am so glad I found this web-page.   here is the link

REBOOTING THIS YEAR 2014 SO FAR ITS BEEN VERY DIFFICULT SO I AM WATCHING CHRISTMAS MOVIES

This has been a very difficult year for me. I wanted to lift my spirits so I decided to extend my Christmas Holiday Season Starting today!  

See my dad and husband have been fighting cancer.  I can not be in 2 places at once. It is stressful.  I feel hopeless.  That is a depressing feeling,  Since this is an election year all that is on television are political adds.  CNN is a non stop scream machine.  I needed positive energy in my home.  So for some reason "Christmas" popped into my head so I decided to start watching Christmas programs.

Yes this is August but did you know Christmas is only a little over 100 days away. If your a child this seems like a long time however adults 100 days come and go fast.

Now I am determined to enjoy this & every Christmas season. So tonight I watched "The Spirit of Christmas". The "Spirit of Christmas" is Tv Special (from the 1950's) its a puppet show telling the story of "The Night Before Christmas: and "The Nativity Story" Watching these really did elevate my mood and put a smile in my heart.

Trust me watching something about "Christmas"(film or a cartoon) will lift your spirits and without side effects!  I think every night I will watch something that is related to "Christmas" until the end of the year!

I have plenty of things to choose from. I think next I will watch one of those "Feel good" Hallmark Christmas Movies".    

THE NIGHT THEY SAVE CHRISTMAS DVD 1984 CHARMING TV-MOVIE

Okay this is the 2nd Christmas theme film I have seen in 3 days. SO I am keeping up with my "starting my Christmas Season Early". I just finished watching for the first time a 1984 tv-movie called "The Night They Saved Christmas". For the limited budget of a tv-movie the film really delivers a few eye catching set pieces. The story is suitable for everyone. In a nutshell the film is about how construction and dynamite is threatening "Santa's Workshop and his way of life". (No its not an environmental theme). As we all know "Holiday theme: movies have a certain formula and this is no different however "Its Way Above Average" and it will be the perfect film to kick off your holiday viewing!

I still Love Kim Fields and "The Facts of Life"

Well all of us have favorite shows we watched when we were kids. One of those show I grew up watching was "the facts of Life". The show first came on when I was in Jr High. I really did grow watching this show and for some reason I hear one of these ladies is in something I will still watch it. I don't think I was the only white boy that watched "Living Single". or was I?

Close Encounters of the Third Kind Which is your favorite version. There have been 3

Did you know there has been three version released of this film. In 1977 was the Original Theatrical Version. In 1980 was the Special Edition which we were taken inside the ship. The 3rd Version is called the "Director's Cut" which was especially prepared for the home video market in 2007

Now have you seen all 3 versions? For years the only version available was the 1980 "Special Edition". My favorite scenes however were eliminated in that version. The part where Richard Dreyfus is making the mountain in his home was cut down! In 1991 Criterion (A LASERDISC COMPANY) released the film in its original theatrical form. I was glad to see my favorite scenes again. This was also one of the first films to be released in "The Widescreen" (Letterbox Format). The cost of buy the laserdisc at the time was $125.00 yes $125. Today you can buy those same laserdisc on e-bay for under $15.00. I got mine the other day. SO I was wondering If you have seen all 3 versions of this film which version do you like the best. I like the original version the best. How about you?

FYI   Technically there has been 4 versions.  the television version incorporated all the footage.

HALLOWEEN AND THE LOST FOOTAGE HERE IS MY VERSION OF IT

THIS STORY I POSTED YEARS AGO.  I DID NOT ALTER IT IN ANY FORM.  I THOUGHT I WOULD RE-POST IT BECAUSE I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO WANTS TO SEE THIS FOOTAGE.    MAYBE THE FANS CAN DO A KICK-STARTER CAMPAIGN? 

I got an e-mail from the people who had the outtakes of the horror classic "Halloween".

Well the Synapse company had that footage ( with no sound) however there must of been legal reasons so they turned over the "outtakes" to the owners of "Halloween". I thought the outtakes
 would be in a 30th anniversary edition of "Halloween". However there hasn't been any mention anywhere about a 30th Anniversary Edition of "Halloween" from Anchor Bay or from the official web page http://www.halloweenmovies.com/

So a DVD release this year (with this footage) might not happen. I am sure that one day we will see this footage but it doesn't look like we will see it this year. I have written a letter to Anthony Masi who is in charge of the official web page. I asked him questions about this footage and a possible DVD release this year that would include the found outtakes. As of today he has not written back but he is a good guy and I am sure I will hear from him soon. However he "might not be able to say anything".

However from the e-mails from fans that I have been getting they say " there is still plenty of Avenues that have not been explored by any DVD release".  Many of the fans who have written to me want to know "where did they film the laundry room"  (An old audio commentary John Carpenter mentions Studio City as the location)  .  Also where did they film the interiors?  "The Wallace Home" and "The Doyle Homes" were not the same houses that were used for the exteriors".  "Who lives at these homes now"  Do they mind having a famous location.


  The outtakes and the other footage could be used  and show us how "They constructed scenes"

Hello Mr Heck:

"We have returned the footage to the owner" and, basically, at this time, are no longer involved with the project. It is unfortunate, but the owner of the materials has his own ideas on how he'd like things to work and we do not agree 100% with it.

At this point, we still may restore the footage on his behalf, but as of right now we no longer own the materials.

Ellen Degeneres The Puppy Episode Historic & UNDERRATED

Can you believe this happened 17 years ago? This was one the best moments in television history. . Say what you want but this Historic Moment changed television forever. I just got done re-watching this episode and in reality it's underrated!

It is one of the best moments ever for scripted television. Television critics seem to have forgotten how great of an episode this was (and still is)!

It never gets a mention as one of the top 10 moments ever on television. I think this might have to do with all the controversy that surrounded the shows last 2 seasons.. Today If you watch the last 2 seasons of "ellen" you will see how funny the show still is. In fact Season 5 of "ellen" is better then most current comedies on the air today!

The next time you critics put together a list of the best moments of scripted television DO NOT LEAVE ELLEN OFF THAT  LIST.    In fact put it at or near the top of that list.  

WITHOUT WARNING SCREAM FACTORY RELEASE WILL HAVE EXTRAS

The cult favorite "Without Warning" is finally getting a home video release thanks to the "Scream Factory".

The 1980 film had a very limited theatrical release but it later  developed a  loyal  following. after audiences discovered the film on its Late Night HBO showings.

This film however has never had a HOME VIDEO RELEASE in the USA despite the demand for the title.  For various reasons it never made it to the store shelves UNTIL NOW.  The film will be released on 8/5 by the "Scream Factory".  This company has been giving horror fan "A NIGHTMARE COME TRUE".


One of their first releases was "Halloween II".  That film was never given a special edition despite the fact it had numerous DVD Releases.  Scream Factory finally released it on DVD AND BLU RAY in a collectors edition with all the extras that fans could possibly want including the television cut.  Now there bringing "Without Warning"  to the video shelves I can't wait.

I just got word from "The Scream Factory" that the film (WITHOUT WARNING)  was going to include extras but what they are will not be disclosed until June.

Synapse Films Will Release PROM NIGHT in October or Before Exclusive News a link to deleted scenes

For almost a year now we have been waiting for the Synapse Films release  of "Prom Night".   I am glad this company is restoring this film and have been waiting for this release for a long time.   I had a brief exchange with the company "Synapse" and I found out a few things.  

They are still working on this title along with the extras.  The owner of this company is a huge fan of this film (His previous company Elite released the film on Laserdisc after it was out of print for years).  It was also the first time the film was released in the "WIDESCREEN FORMAT".

When speaking to the company I asked if the title was  being "Pushed to 2015" since that will be the films 35th Anniversary?  I was told "No our agreement is that we would release this film in 2014".  "The title will be (hopefully) released in October or before.   

In other news I have talked to a few cast members from the film and they told me they are participating in the extras that will be on the release.   Now what they are doing is questionable.  They might be doing a cast audio commentary but it sounded more like a retrospective mini documentary is being done.   I was also told by a third party that there will be a segment on the filming locations and what they look like today!  As much as I tried I could not verify that. 

I know your waiting for this release.  However to wet your appetite I am giving you a link that has the deleted scenes that most people have never seen or even knew they existed.   Enjoy....

HALLOWEEN MEGA SET WHAT IS AND WHAT IS NOT ON IT??? EXCLUSIVE NEWS

So "Halloween" fans are you excited about this release.?  It should excite you because at last there will be a release of the "Producers Cut" of "Halloween 6".  It should be known that both "Halloween 6"  and "Halloween H20" have never had Special editions Releases Until Now.

Now I was told there is really isn't too much money being spent on "The Extras" and 90% of the extras are things that have been released before.  Do not look for a "Crystal Lake Memories" type of documentary here.

I know fans are very frustrated that the alternate footage (From the Original 1978 film)  will  most likely will not be included on this release.  The parties involved  have never reached a financial agreement,.  How far apart are they? Unknown!   I will not post things that I am not certain of.  The people that have in possession the alternate footage  own it  but they can not legally release it.   Its also reported that this footage might include television footage that was shot but never made into the 1981 television cut!   It should be known that none of this footage has sound.  Now who has this footage?  You will have to google that but the man who does have it really is a horror fan and would love to work out something with owners of the "Halloween" films.  I want to also disclose that these outtakes are wanted by fans and money can be made if they make a documentary about "The film making process".  There has been 2 well done documentary's done on "Halloween". A different approach needs to be done for this footage.  The best way would be using it as a mini film school.  I think using the footage and talking about why this take didn't work or why was the actors blocked  in certain way etc etc.


The 2nd thing fans want the most in this upcoming release is the only seen on television footage from "Halloween H20".  There is about 5 minutes that was edited from the theatrical release that did show up when the film played on TV.

Now what exactly will be included that has not been disclosed????

Well look for Jamie Lee Curtis to do an interview regarding "Halloween H20" and at this point in time its not clear if she is recording an audio commentary alone or with the director but she has agreed to do one.

TWIN PEAKS BLU-RAY NEWS EXCLUSIVE

"Twin Peaks" fans were delighted when they herd that the long awaited  Deleted Scenes from "Fire Walk With Me" were finally being released from the Vault.  Well  here is something else that will blow your mind

There will be deleted footage. from the Television Series as well. Footage that was thought to be destroyed has surfaced.  This footage includes  showing someone else killing Laura Palmer/Maddie.  Footage there is also a deleted scene that has never been shown anywhere that is from the original pilot.  The scene is an extension of the high school scene class room where they here about the death of Laura.   I am not sure if this scene extension was originally in the script but I herd it runs quit a bit longer.

Are you ready for a return to "Walton's Mountain"? Revival is rumored to be on the drawing boards

Everything old is new again.  With the success of "Dallas" Warner Brothers Television is looking  through their vast television library to see what else could have potential built audience awareness one title that gets mentioned many times is "The Walton's".    

With a built in name recognition the first episode would generate major interest but many things still need to be worked on.  Still early in the development is "How do we approach a new show"?   

1)  Include former cast members

2)  Make it a period piece or set it in contemporary times?

3)  Would this be something for the CW TNT TBS OR EVEN CBS?

More questions are still being asked but one this is certain  "The Original Show" is beloved by millions of people.  Reviving it is going to be tricky to please them and to generate new fans.   

I think however I will pass on this show.  I wasn't a fan of the original.  Frankly I hated the Grandma.  

Mimi Kennedy News. She is now a regular on MOM The Greatest Show Your not watching

If you guys are not watching "Mom" then you should. Its a very funny look at everyday people who struggle with life's ups and downs who also happen to be in Alcoholics Anonymous.

The series stars Anna Faris. She is cute and funny but the real stars of the show has proven to be "Allison Janney" and veteran actress "Mimi Kennedy". I love the Mimi Kennedy role of Marjorie because her character feels very real and Mimi plays it just right!. Mimi Kennedy and the writers of the show have created the most believable portrait of an AA member with long term sobriety.  To play the part of Marjorie convincingly it looks like Mimi has done her homework here and it shows.

IF you are a fan of the show you will be happy to know that MIMI KENNEDY is now going to be a regular in the show, She has gone from guest star (popping up every now and again) to full time regular.

Good for her. Now let's hope the television academy doesn't ignore the work MIMI has done on this show. It is award worthy! Also not to be ignored is the scene stealing that Octavia Spenser did with her guest appearances.

If Octavia's new show doesn't pan out then make her a regular on this show as well.

Okay I am back with a vengeance TWIN PEAKS HALLOWEEN AND PROM NIGHT 1980 NEWS Coming

Taking care of someone with cancer isn't easy.  You have lots of sleepless nights. Anyway there better now.  Right now I am working on a story about some major BLU-RAY releases

In the coming months there is some long awaited films coming to blu-ray including "Twin Peaks:Fire Walk With Me" which will include the infamous/legendary felted footage.


Also "Prom Night" the 1980 Horror-Slasher is getting a major restoration.  As I pointed out years ago the film needed it.


Also the "Halloween"mega set.  Will it have the alternate footage from the original that fans have been waiting for?    With my friends and sources in high places I will post what I can when I can
