ANNA NICOLE DIED BEFORE OUR EYES

CNN THANKS GOD THAT ANNA NICOLE DIED DURING SWEEPS

Would we be getting all of this coverage if Anna Nicole died in March? For those of you who don't know February (as well as May & November) is a sweeps month. This is when ratings matter the most. This is when TV Networks base their advertising rates by the ratings they get during a "sweeps" month.

So we have been getting almost 24/7 coverage on the death of Anna Nicole on CNN. All the entertainment shows (Entertainment Tonight, The Insider, Access Hollywood, Extra) have been giving us nothing but Anna Nicole news. Even before her death "Entertainment Tonight" was giving us exclusive interviews with ANNA. These interviews sent celebrity gossip into overdrive. Anna was seem to be getting a lawsuit a day until she died. Enter CNN.

Now every little new item seems to be breaking news on CNN. From

her mothers flight to the Bahamas to another news conference from Larry Birkhead's lawyer or

Zsa Zsa Gabor husband holding yet another news conference.

This got me thinking. Would we be getting all of this so called NEWS if it wasn't sweeps. The sad fact is that we are not getting the real news. IRAQ is getting ignored. The Democrats running for office ignored. Korea disarming ignored. Whats going on with Iran? The closing of the Iraq border? George Bush's plan for more troops in Iraq?

I am willing to bet most Americans can tell you more about Anna Nicole then the number of troops the President wants to send to IRAQ.

Yes this blog is about Hollywood. However CNN seems to be turning into "E". I want news from CNN. Over the last week CNN has had their shows "Larry King" "Glen Beck"

"Nancy Grace" & more devote the entire show about Anna Nicole.

Enough already! Do Real News.

Anna Nicole was famous for being famous. She died before TV cameras. That guy on Entertainment Tonight should of said something to authorities. She was a mess when he was interviewing her! She is now however dead. He did nothing. Yes she had a tabloid life. We all witnessed someone self destructing in front of our eyes. Aren't we proud!
