STAR IS BORN 2010 RESTORATION

I want to start this off by saying LOTS OF JUDY GARLAND FANS are like rabid dogs.  You cant please them not matter what. You want to run from them.

Now I myself am a fan of both the film " A Star is Born" and Judy Garland. However I am bigger fan of movies then I am of Judy Garland.

Now this restoration I was lucky to see at The "Turner Classic Film Festival".  I was an invited guest.  To me it was a thrill of a lifetime.  The film looked great.

Now there will be tons of people saying its too bright, out of focus and color seems to weird.  I will  disagree.  Its as good as it will ever get.    Judy looks great.. The film sound is great.  The only thing missing of course was 10 minutes that Ron Haver had to use stills for.  However Ron did a great job with those stills.  You also must remember that the stills are gone after the first hour.  However those stills will become a thing of the past if the Michael Arick rumors come true.  He is said to have " A complete print of the film.  Now what I am not thrilled is that Warner Brothers has not talked about the rumors.

I also want to state in the last few months I have herd from 6 people who claimed to have seen this missing footage.  I turned over the first 2 people  to The Judy Room. Hoping he could get them too talk more.

The other 4 people I think were telling the truth about seeing the footage.  One claims to have seen the film at a private Christmas party in 1974 at some theater in Beverly Hills. The 2 others claimed  to have seen the film on vhs. One said  he saw the film at a party in "Brentwood, CA".  One claimed he saw it in "Chicago" and my favorite was he saw the film at a lab in New York in the 1970 on the anniversary of Stonewall.  Whatever.   Were they telling the truth?  I think some were but could they have mistaken what they saw?  When I asked all of them that  one said  Mr Brentwood said "...well maybe" the others said "No"  "...I know what I saw".

I still think some if not all of this footage is still out there.  I just hope one day I get to see it.
