Where is the Broadway production of Designing women

Where is the Broadway production of Designing women? A few years ago Linda Bloodsworth said she was working on a Broadway play that would in fact serve of what she intended to be the final episode. I was at a celebration of the show in 1991 and Linda said to the audience that in the final show she wanted "Suzanne & Anthony to run of and get married". To her she said "It would be the Old South merging with The New South".

When DW hit the air I was a fan. Moment One. This wasn't about 4 horny people in their early 20's, It was about real issues! I loved it from episode one.! If you watch the show today you will see the show almost has a timeless quality to it! That is because issues effecting women in the 1980's are still issues women are still facing today. Designing Women was at first called a rip-off of The Golden Girls by every reviewer. In fact it was called a rip-off of "The Golden Girls".

When DW hit the air in September of 1986 The Golden Girls were gearing up for their 2nd year (and the show just won an Emmy) I did like the Golden Girls but DW was a show unto itself. I remember in TV guide there was a blurb printed that said "The Worse Episode of The Golden Girls is better than the best episode of Designing Women". That pissed me off. "Designing Women" is now getting the last laugh. If critics would watch an episode of "The Golden Girls" today they would call that show preachy now. "Designing Women" would be hailed today as a break through. Can you Imagine a show like "DW" on Network TV today! No you can't!

The TV Networks would not put on a sitcom where the entire cast is women over the 30. How sad.
Now in 2008 22 years after its first episode aired Critics are calling "DW" "A Classic". To me and other fans of the show we knew "DW" was a great show! The fans were smarter then the critics. Today its now called a classic. Funny to the fans of the show we knew it over 20 years ago!

Time has proved the show is still a classic. Now when we see USA today mention great TV Shows they always mention Designing Women as a show "with a voice and wasn't afraid of its voice". Well I remember that same paper called it "Preachy" when it first aired Now how the times have changed. Where were these idiots 20 years ago.

The BAD PRESS
From the moment the show was introduced at the CBS up fronts (Spring 1986) show was being criticized very heavily by every publication! All of them said negative things! Today these same critics say "Designing Women is a great show and Networks should make shows like that again" Where were they in 1986?

When Designing Women was on the air all the Emmy's went to The Golden Girls Cheers or Murphy Brown. In fact One year it lost to "The Wonder Years"! Designing Women was nominated for Best Comedy Emmy in 1989 and 1990. Yes it lost. However today what show can you watch today and still laugh just as hard? What show still get new fans every year by the thousands. Well kids its not "Murphy Brown" or "Cheers" its DW. They don't make them like this anymore. Thank Linda Bloodsworth Thompson and Harry Bloodsworth for over 100 classic tv episodes. Now how about a reunion show/episode.

THE 1998 PSYCHO REMAKE REVIEW BY STAN HECK

This remake to me was not a bad idea. In fact I lover the fact that director Gus Van Sant was using the original screenplay. However what I think went wrong with his film was that he didn't change hardly anything. He should of updated the dialog. He should of change some directions (the actors copied almost everything from the original). Most of all the whole first act should of been changed.

A woman running after a man is believable however what is not believable is that a woman of 1998 would meet a man in secret. They would of been fucking in her house.

Also the casting of Vince Vaughn was just wrong. Gus should of cast (the time ) Edward Furlong or "Edward Furlong Type".

What is also funny is that this movie did not remake the original theatrical cut of 1960. What they did was a remake of the Television Cut. What was left on the cutting room floor was

a) The 2nd meeting with the sheriff and his wife at a church

b) The 2nd half of the Psychiatrist talk at the end of the movie.

In all I like the effort behind the movie. I do not think its a bad idea to remake a movie and use the same screenplay. I think if you remake a movie and use the same screenplay then please keep the movie in the era in which it was originally made. The remake of Psycho would of been better had they kept the movie in 1960!

Why I feel bad for the Hulk Hogan Family

Every family has ups and down. We all know what is going with these guys because they had a reality show. This made there private lives very public. Well we all know what has happened to this family in the last year. The car wreck, the divorce, a victim in a coma type state, & more.

Now I want everybody to think about this.

*IT WAS AN ACCIDENT I AM SURE NICK DID NOT INTEND FOR THE ACCIDENT TO HAPPEN

* THE JAIL HOUSE TAPE WAS LEAKED

Now every aspect of this family life seems to be released on TV. Now I agree Nick needs to do his time in jail. He also should have to pay for the care of his victim.

Hulk Hogan should not be thinking of a new TV show for his son. However he is trying to get his sons spirit up so I can see why he would say what he did to his son. This however doesn't mean I agree with Hulk. The Family needs help and I think the media should just back up.

THIS IS ALL I WILL EVER SAY ABOUT THIS FAMILY WE SHOULD ALL JUST BACK OFF.

American Graffiti can you believe its been 35 years

American Graffiti Would you believe its been 35 years this August when American Graffiti made is debut! The made for under a million dollars. It created new stars. Richard Dreyfus, & Harrison Ford are still on the Hollywood A-list. Ron Howard of course went on the become one of the biggest directors of all time. George Lucas went on the create "Star Wars" and he is the most successful director of all time.

However before "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" George Lucas directed by favorite movie of all time and that of course is "American Graffiti". For some reason I don't understand how a then 7 year old ( I saw this in 1974) could some get what was going on the screen and cared about the teens! For some reason the movie made an impact on my life and I don't know why.

Now for some reason I knew Debbie was a nice girl but for some reason I knew she would have sex with almost anybody. Once she jumped in that car with "The Toad" I knew she was easy. ( Well when I was 7 I thought sex was just French Kissing).

Now the movie was a huge success. It spawned a sequel. It also got the TV show "Happy Days" out of PILOT/DEVELOPMENT Hell at ABC. In fact if "American Graffiti" was not hit the movie version of "Grease" would of never made it to the screen.

"American Graffiti", was the first ever movie to tell multi stories. It was also ground breaking by using older music to help tell the story and setting the mood. The movie was a great then and its still holds up today. I just re-watched the movie again recently and I was still so moved by the story. It had been years since I saw the movie so I was thrilled to see how the movie has stood the test of time. In the future I would like to see a DVD release that is truly special. Maybe we will get one on Blue-Ray DVD. If we do then I will break down and buy a Blue-Ray.

STUNT CASTING Angelina Jolie IN A DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES EPISODE

This is wishful thinking on my part but, if I was in charge at "Desperate Housewives"I would cast Angelina Jolie in an episode in November for sweeps. I make her play against Susan (Teri Hatcher). Maybe be Susan's spoiled little sister. That would be fun. Besides "Housewives" needs a little goosing. Last year was the best year since the first however I think they are jumping the shark by moving the show 5 years in the future.

I think having Angelina come in for an episode would be great. I would love to see her terrorize Susan! By the way BRING BACK EDDIE AND Harriet Sansom Harris who played the sister of
Martha Huber was murdered by Paul Young. Martha Huber in fact did figure out that Paul did kill her sister and she framed Paul for her own murder. Got that?

Indiana Jones 4 is a hit so is could Pretty Woman 2 be coming soon

Its been 18 years since the movie Pretty Woman was released. It was a huge hit and it revived Richard Gere's movie career and it made Julia Roberts a household name. For the next 3 years there were rumors of a sequel. In 1992 Gary Marshall said 2 screenplays were being written and the best of those drafts would be made into "P.w. 2". Well no sequel was ever made. We did however get a re teaming of Richard and Julia in "Runaway Bride".

Well here it is almost 20 years later. I think a sequel would still work. I think getting Richard, Julia to sign on now would not be a problem. After all both of them have not been in a hit for sometime. Director Gary Marshall also hasn't had a hit movie for sometime now. A Sequel just maybe coming.

MORE AMERICAN GRAFFITI REVIEW BY STAN HECK

This sequel was made and released 6 years after the ground breaking hit "American Graffiti". This time around instead of the story taking place on one night it takes place on 5 New Years Eves and the storey's are inter cut together.

Unlike the original where all the story's worked here they all don't. The memorable one out of the five is the Steve & Laurie. However the other 4 storyline are good but there not great.

The actors give it 100% however the filming style switches from story to story. What I am most surprised in this movie is the story for Terry "The Toad". His character is the one that has grown the most.

Now in general this movie got bad reviews. If you judge it as a movie unto itself its good however its just not great.

The problem with the movie is that the characters are hard to connect too. We have one segment where someone doesn't speak English. I think if the movie took place all on the same night like the original & they re-worked some of the storyline's it might have been great. SO this is not great but its still worth watching. *** out of **** Stars
