How to Gain an Audience for the Academy Awards

The Academy is always out of touch with the public.   They seem to have these rules that only they understand on what makes a Best Picture Winner.  Look at what has won the award over the past few years

In 1982 They Award Best Picture to Gandhi over "Tootsie" and "ET".  30 years later who watches Gandhi?
1987  "The LAst Emperor" wins over "Moonstruck" and "Fatal Attraction".  Today nobody talks about "Emperor"

1985 "Out of Africa" wins over "The Color Purple".

1990 "Dances with Wolves" over "Ghost" and "Goodfellas".

This is a few examples.  I think the Academy needs to expand the Nominees in the Acting category's to 10 each or break them up into to "Drama" and " Musical or Comedy".

They could also do this with Best Picture and director category as well.

A Juvenile Award should also be added.
A Break Out Award Should be considered

Also Each year the Academy Should have a segment called the "Academy Hall of Fame" and introduce 3-5 films each year that will be inducted into the Academy Hall of Fame".
