"New Line Cinema" days were numbered after it became part of the "Time-Warner" empire. After AOL bought Time-Warner New Line had a few bad years and it was folded into Warner Brothers and now "New Line" is just a production label they slap on a few films each year.
I am hoping that "Time Warner" will sell off New Line and Bob Shaye can return to run the company. Even if "New Line" became a production arm that released films through "MGM" or "Lions Gate" it would be nice to see New Line Cinema get out of the strangle hold that "Time Warner" has on the company.
Seem to me "Time Warner" will not make Horror films. I guess Time Warner would rather spend $125,000,000 making "The Hangover 3". They could of made more money had they made another "Friday the 13th" or "Elm St" film for just $20,000,000.
