The Originator Blu-ray Dvd was not very impressive of this film. Sadly this is not the first time "Lady" has had a bad transfer. The First 2 Laser disc Presentations were among the worse transfer to every come from a major studio! CBS later had the film restored and the film looked great on a THX approved transfer.
The DVD were also very good. I was on pins and needles when the film came out on Blu-Ray. When I put it on I was very disappointed. The man who also restored the film was also not happy! However there is good news.
Since Paramount Pictures now releases there movies through Warner Brothers then maybe Warner Brothers will restore the film for an all new 6k transfer. This is after all a Warner Brothers film to begin with (Long Story but in 1972 The film and Film Rights were given over to CBS which is now part of Paramount Pictures) and Warner Brothers Studio rightfully still thinks of this as one of their crowning achievements.
In Fact The First DVD releases were done by Warner Brothers through a licence agreement with CBS!
So lets hope the 50th Anniversary Edition of this film will get the 6k treatment!
PS Fix the Jump Cut that happens during the race at Ascot !
