Patti Lupone and Her Agent Fight For the Lead Role in Gyosy

Patti is a legend.  The Show "Gypsy" is legendary.  A film adaption is rumored to be in the works (Again).  To cast Barbra Streisand would be WRONG!.  Patti is a better fit and  is the only Actress to Ever Win a Tony for playing "MAMA ROSE".     She made everyone forget anyone else that ever played "MAMA ROSE" before her.   She is also perfect to play MAMA ROSE for the reason why they won't cast her.  The reason is "Middle America" might not know who she is but they know "Streisand".   Well BFD.

 Patti should be cast for this #1 reason  the part of "MAMA" is about a woman who never got her chance to be a star.  She wanted to be a star but was "BORN TO SOON AND STARTED TOO LATE" so she pushed her daughters into show business!   They become famous but MAMA is left in the shadows!  That is why she is perfect for the role.  Most people don't know her!  They Know Streisand and would expect lots of big show stoppers coming out of her mouth but they would never suspect Patti!  

Now for nobody that has ever seen "GYPSY" or know who Patti is (Trust me that would be straight males) You can picture every straight male  jumping out of their seats when Patti Sings "Rose's Turn".  The Impact she would make in a movie is what movies are made for!    


Not casting her would be a crime against film!   Even the Late Arthur Laurents (who wrote the play) thought Patti was the best MAMA ROSE EVER!  He would know!
