MARY POPPINS 50TH ANNIVERSARY IS TO BE A HUGE CELEBRATION WITH THEATRICAL RE-RELEASE BUT NOT IN 3D

Fans of the Disney Masterpiece have been wanting to know where is the Blu-Ray of  "Mary Poppins".   Well fear not its coming next year most likely in the Spring after the film has an all new Premiere of a New Restoration that is to set  to debut as the Opening Night Film at the "5th Annual Turner Classic Movie Film Festival"  followed by a limited theatrical re-issue however rest assure it won't be in 3D it least not now!


The film right now is going under a major restoration!  This is the first time the original negative is being re-scanned for a all new 6K mastering!   Also "Some Minor Fixes" are being considered (Removing matte lines etc)  as well as an all-new "Dolby Stereo 7.1 Mix" is being done.  The Original Film mix however will most likely be included on the blu-ray.


New Extras to include a new "Mary Poppins"  segment on the Broadway Musical (Rumors also abound about a Home Video Release of that Production).

New unearthed behind the scenes footage including rehearsal footage of the "Jolly Holiday Segment".

Tom Hanks has said to have already completed his segment  about why he felt "Disney Had to Make this Film". (He also in an upcoming film about the production of MAry Poppins playing Walt Disney Himself in Saving Mr Banks"


All in all it seems to be an awesome release!!!!
