The 1964 Musical classic is rumored to be getting a remake. I am sorry this is beyond a bad idea. "My Fair Lady" doesn't need a remake. Its still a great movie. In fact the movie won Best Picture of the Year. The only thing Warner Brothers did that was wrong is that they did not cast Julie Andrews. Now Columbia is remaking the movie. I don't see why. AS much as I love the original I do not see the advantage of a remake. Most people under 40 have never herd of the movie. Even if they have they have no interest in watching it.
Now if Columbia Pictures wants to remake then they must have money to burn. I think that if Columbia was smart they would cast Julie Andrews in a non-singing role. (Julie lost her voice in real life). Columbia however isn't smart after all thy gave us "ISHTAR", "HUDSON HAWK", "RADIO FL YER", "HERO", "THE LAST ACTION HERO", "RETURN TO THE BLUE LAGOON", "STEALTH", "ALL THE KINGS MEN" (a remake).
