The Classic TV-Show is a prime example on a Network sticking by a show hoping it will catch on with viewers. It took a few years however when "Cheers" started its 3rd season in 1984 NBC also added "The Cosby Show". "Cheers" went from being a so-so hit into the TOP 5 shows of the 1984-1985 TV season. It had "Cosby" to thank for its success. However one has to wonder if a network would even put this show on the air if it was created today?
With setting taking place in a bar and the average character being over 30 its hard to believe that "Cheers" would get beyond the "Pilot" stage.
