ER was a smash hit when it debut on NBC in 1994. The was amazing to watch. It had a great cast including George Clooney , Anthony Edwards, & Julianna Margulies. These actors were great and still work today.
Now we have an Actor who were miscast and just very painful to watch this actor is Eriq La Salle. Watching him was like watching paint dry. When I saw the pilot I could not believe this man had a job as an actor. When I saw the next 4 episodes I was still asking that same question.
By the end of the first year Eriq almost said no lines in the show and he was reduce to stares glares and pouting like a child and - for good reason THAT WAS ALL HE COULD DO.
Years later I found out during the shooting of the pilot he it took Eriq "27 takes" for to get a simple line out. OUCH!
Somehow he kept his job after they shot the pilot. When the show went to series Eriq never got better. His acting somehow got worse.
After the show was on the air for about 6 years most of the Original cast members were gone or leaving. Eriq was almost the last original cast member not to leave. Finally he did leave for "Acting and directing" in films. Well he did direct and star in film when he left. the film was "Crazy as Hell". The reviews were bad. It didn't catch on and the film might be found today at the 99 cent store.
If you think I am being too hard on Eriq think again. His acting roles have only been limited to guest roles on TV shows. His feature film career as a director never took of at all. Why is that? I will tell you HE SUCKS!
