Was Sunset Blvd Andrew Lloyd Webber's Swan Song

I find it funny that after all the controversy that surrounded "Sunset Blvd" that theater legend Andrew Lloyd Webber has not had a hit show since.  

He has had revivals of "Evita" but even those productions  got mixed reviews.   

For years there were rumors that there would be a film.  Who would be in it would deepened on who wrote a blog about it.  Everyone from Barbra Streisand,  Glenn  Close , Meryl Streep, Liza  and even Cher  have been rumored to be cast in the role of Norma Desmond.  

Now all of these ladies are great choices but if I were prodiing the film I would cast Michelle Pfeiffer.  She can sing and she is also beautiful.  She could do it.  

If you however want to hear a great recording of the show you should get the recording that has Patti LuPone.  The role called for a singer and lets face nobody can top Patti.   

If they ever did a Broadway revival they should cast Vanessa Williams as Norma.  She is also beautiful and can sing.  She is the total package..
