I think "Lincoln" lost the Best Picture and Director because the film ended on a downer plus the true climax of the film came 15 minutes before the film ended
Why I am glad we did not see the event of his assassination I still think Steven should of ended the film with the surrender at Appomattox. Had he of done so he would of added another "Best Director" Award to his mantle piece. I also think "Tommy Lee Jones" and "Sally Field" also would of added to their award collection had the director just ended the film sooner.
Now don't let this stop you from viewing the film. It is still much better then anything "Michael Bay" has ever done or, will ever do!
