TV SHOWS WHAT WERE THEY THINKING AFTER MASH

At the time "Mash" ended its long run it became one of the first shows of ending on top.  The series finale was one of the most watched TV events Ever.  Now MASH wasn't a show I watched then or now.  Never was fan.  I have nevr seen an episode that I found funny.   However I am in the minority here.  

CBS however still wanted MASH to continue so along came "After Mash" and it became a ratings and critical disaster.

The problem with After Mash was the fact it did cast 2nd string characters into their own show.  Now there is nothing wrong with that however these were characters people were tired of and from the evidence these characters very already fully explored in MASH which was one of  reasons MASH ended its run.  All of the characters were 100% used and there were no more stories to tell.  

You would think that TV would learn but years later "Joey" came knocking after "Friends" and  NBC THURSDAY  has been in a ratings declined ever since.
