So its the weekend. You have nothing to do and you don't want to pay $10 to see another sequel. I can't blame you. If your lucky because you live near a huge video store I am going to recommend 3 older movies that chances are will be available to rent.
My first pick is "Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss". Sean Hayes stars (Jack on Will & Grace) in this charming movie. In the movie Billy is a photographer who happens to be in like/love with Gabe who may or not be gay. Tommy O'Haver discovered Sean Hayes. The movie was "OUT" before Will & Grace filmed its first show. In fact Sean Hayes got the part of Jack because the producers of Will & Grace saw this movie at Sundance!
My second pick is MASK. No not the Jim Carrey movie but the 1985 controversial movie that starred Cher. The controversy was the director was mad that Universal would not pay (THE THEN HOT) BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN record company the amount they wanted to use 3 brand new recorded songs for the movie. ( Almost 20 years later Universal finally did and the movie is now RESTORED on DVD) Mask is based on the true story of Rocky Dennis. To say anymoe would be a crime.
My 3rd pick is a Sequel. This is a case of if you haven't seen the original then your better off. The movie I am referring too is "PSYCHO II". The Hitchcock original can' t be beat. However the sequel is worth seeing because it a very good movie on its own. They story is smart and fans of the original will be in for a treat. Again you do not have to see the original to enjoy this movie. Anthony Perkins and Vera Miles return to roles that they created 22 years earlier.
Enjoy!
