In case you missed Sunset Blvd (The Notorious Broadway Show) you missed out.
Now I am a huge Patti Lupone fan. To me she will always be the best Norma Desmond period end of story! However it was sad that Patti Lupone was never able to play her Norma against the best person to play Joe Gillis & that person was Alan Campbell.
Alan Campbell to me was the best person in that part. To me he was the glue that held that production together through all the Norma Desmond's. In fact he played Joe Gillis during its entire Broadway run. To prove my point listen to Keven Anderson sing the same songs on the original London Recording. Keven singing isn't there.
Now I was hoping to catch the last play he was in "Adrift in Macao" but it closed shortly after it opened.
Well I am throwing my voice to the world wide web here and stating that if Andrew Lloyd Webber wants to make the movie "Sunset Blvd" cast Alan Campbell & Patti Lupone. Put aside all differences and let these two actors do the movie!

Sunset Blvd with PAtti Lupone is a great idea. However it will never happen.
Well you never know. Never say never. I think it would be a huge event is Patti Returned to play Norma.
Th musical is now ripe for a "RETURN" to Broadway. I would hope that a new production would not have the controversy that the original production never lived down. If I was a producer I would cast Patti but since I know that will not happen I would say MR LLOYD WEBBER CAST VANESSA WILLIAMS!
SHE IS PRETTY AND SHE CAN SING. IF you have to cast a white lady then cast Lucie Arnez. She can sing and act! She would slso bring "the human emotional truth" out of Norma Desmond that no other actress would come close to ever doing!
